At first I was impressed with the ease of use. I quickly realized the design is flawed. The one single light covers a small grow area. The flimsy frame takes up a lot of space and still easily falls over. After 1 week the light stops working. I contact the company and am offered a $7 credit. I send it back and they only refund $40.

This was my third Jumpstart grow light that I have purchased over the past couple of years. Everything was great until the light went out. As I had it for less than two months I reached out to the seller Spreetail to see if they would send a replacement bulb as they should last much longer. Spreetail was amazing in their response. Responses/replies were within an hour's time. They quickly rectified the situation. I've never had such an easy, quick response from a seller before. So, great lamp, great seller. A total win win!

Love the timer, it’s sturdy enough, the grow lights are better than what I had years ago. Having it be adjustable and not integral to the plastic covers is important so you can adjust the night as they grow and prevent legginess.

It was an excellent price on the stand then I could add the light I preferred. All together it was about half the cost of a similar unit at my home and garden center but I got a better light! It was easy to assemble and works well. It is light weight but I expected that. I'm very pleased.

We have more than one of these. They work great for the African Violets we have in the house. It's hard to find different widths of these, so we use Amazon to find them.

Frustrated with Amazon right now. The Jump Start Hydrofarm light comes with a one year warranty that it will be free of defects and that the product will be repaired or replaced but must be first returned to the original place of purchase. I can’t seem to do that. I don’t want a straight refund, Amazon, I want a replacement, ie. Could you come pick this defective one up and exchange it for a new one that (hopefully) works? I have baby plants that need a grow light asap! This was a fairly decent light (I did choose to use my own timer with it as the 12 and 18 hr built-in timer options didn’t work for me). I like the design and size, but the bulb seems to have burned out and I’ve only used it about a 1/2 day shy of a week, following the directions as stated in the packaging. I even removed, cleaned and reinserted the bulb, tried a different wall outlet, etc. I have another JumpStart light from Hydrofarm, I’ve used it for many years without any issues. Amazon, you only give me the option to “replace” with another item of “my choice” yet the choices the page gives me are not my choice…arg…I can’t even phone or have a proper chat with your customer service about this, the algorithm keeps redirecting me to the same useless options that aren’t helping me resolve my issue. Seems like communicating through a bad review is my best option to be heard here.

It's April here in the Calif mountains of Big Bear Lake. I'ts still very cold. I'm way behind starting my tomato plants. Until today! Easy set up, once you see the videos at the bottom of the product page. Not all "details" are included in the pamphlet. This model is an upgrade from the one I had years ago. The cord lock only works when it's touching the top of the frame. The clips that "snap" on to the top of the light frame are very hard to snap on. The little "green plastic things" in the bulb sockets are not to be taken out. (One of mine was broken and part of it fell out, but the bulb still works). Put the bulb in and gently rotate it toward you to snap/set in place. Rotate away from you to remove. I haven't tried the timer yet, but I really don't need it. I'll turn it on when I get up and off at night. Enough said, this is great for starting vegetable seeds.

Fits the bill if you want an early start on a small garden or some flowers for a bed or, like me, a bit of both. The light is warm enough, and casts strongly over a solid six-inch width. I'm using small starter pots (mostly 1-1/2 inch square; some were 2-1/2 inch) seated in a 8 1/2" flat so I can water from the bottom. Works well, but I do move the flat a bit once or twice a day to get ample time for all seeds/seedlings under the strongest light as the single bulb will not sufficiently cover the whole 8 1/2" area I'm using. It is close though; getting good germination, etc., so the light is strong enough, and even if you're not picky like me and don't move it, you should get good results. Also, the built-in timer function is just a fantastic bonus for the price. I've looked at large, far more expensive systems, but due to money, space, and knowing my penchant for overdoing stuff (and getting too busy to properly care for my too-large-garden!), this light really fits the bill. Keeps me small as I can only run so many starters at one time (48).As well, while the stand itself and the light adjusting system (a cord and stop) is basic and would not put up with much abuse (e.g., a crazy cat/dog, small children), it all is sturdy enough, very simple to operate (and put together), and honestly, is just a very good deal.I might buy another, depending on how well I maintain my garden this year.

Reasonably sturdy, simple adjustable light height. Bulb still working. Does the job.

Very pleased. Pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of the stand. Holds my grow lights perfectly. Would recommend.

This was the perfect plant stand for me, but it could use some improvements.— STAND —The stand measures 24" H x 18" W x 26" L. All dimensions are fixed. This size is ideal for lighting smaller plants, propagating cuttings, or house plants. I use mine to grow all sorts of carnivorous plants.— ADDING A LAMP —There are two ropes on the ends to hook onto the top of a lamp, and a middle adjustable rope to adjust the height as your plants grow. I have a lamp that needed to be at the very top, so I kind of just wrapped my lamp hanging cords around the top bar (gotta improvise!). Obviously, make sure whatever lamp you plan on adding has spots for hooks at the top.— FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS —I would pay money to have a stand that has adjustable legs. You could have many models of varying widths, but if they had one with heights adjustable from two to three feet, that would be amazing. Sure, you can adjust the height of the light, but what happens when you get to the top? That's it. That's the tallest. A sturdier model with improved adjustable legs is a winner in my book.— SUMMARY —At the moment, My plants aren't tall plants so I don't have to worry about the height of the stand. This is a compact plant stand and it's done a great job at helping with the growth of my plants. Recommended.

This product works, and I was going to build my own with PVC, however when it's on sale, it's actually cheaper then a home made one, and really stiff. I've used it with a 2 foot grow light to start my seedlings. Very durable and still great to use for this growing season.
