Exactly the size and material I was expecting, seem to have worked beautifully for my case binding project so far. Sturdy and a great amount for the price. I was able to make six large tomes from this pack with plenty of margin.Others have mentioned that the tape doesn’t come rolled particularly nicely, but given that it’s not starched, and unstarched linen picks up wrinkles as soon as you look at it, it would probably need ironing by the time it’s used anyway. Photo is of the tapes after ironing/use. I’d probably add some spray starch to help them stay flat next time, but had no major issues just using them like this.I’d say the only major issue I have with it is that it doesn’t specify anywhere that it’s acid or lignin free, so I guess we’ll see how these books age. Something to consider or at least ask about if you want archival-quality bindings that’ll last over 50 years. Generally though, very pleased with this. Would use again.

If you are expecting a neat ready-to-use roll as the seller pictures - FORGET IT. Look at the images in the reviews.. They strip off the appropriate length, wind it into a loose rough skeen and stuff it into a very small zip- bag. The result is a twisted, crumpled, creased up Gordian knot. To put it into a useful state plan to spend your time untangling it, ironing it flat and laboriously rolling it up.Its a reasonable price and a decent product, a bit thicker and softer than the stuff from Talas (if available). A LIGHT spritz of starch might be a good idea if you iron it.

I've not used the tape yet, but having sewn for many decades I know material quality. Look forward to binding books with this.

Linen tape is as advertised, slightly open weave to take glue well. Seems like a high quality product. The idea of using linen tape and other quality materials is to make a book that will last for years. Reviewing it today is a recognition of that hope for the future. The true value of this material will be demonstrated (or not) many years in the future. I will be long gone, but hopefully the book, the tape, and the content will be living on, and this review as well.
