I had to replace the primer bulb on my outboard gas tank which had 1/4" hose. All the primer bulbs are either 5/16 or 3/8. So I bought these & a piece of 3/8 fuel hose at the farm store. All together now & no leaks.

I was going to buy the plastic ones, but why? The stainless looks better (if you can see it), and it will never break! Also MUCH easier to shop for on Amazon than anywhere else! Don't be a cheapskate! Get the stainless!

About as simple a product as can get. Piece of tubing machined to correct size. The 1/2-3/8 had good "barbs" for grabbing the inside of the hose on both ends. The 1/4-3/8 had good barbs on 3/8" end but the 1/4" end were somewhat rounded and less defined. I tested both adapters with EPDM hose used for sprayer . Fit fine, not real hard to slip on and satisfactory hold when removing for 1/2-3/8. The 1/4" hose end was slightly easier than 3/8 or 1/2 to install/remove. I would definitely recommend hose clamps on 1/4" ends. I installed proper hose clamps and pressurized lines to 40 psi; both adapters sealed well. The tubing is thicker than some of the cheaper adapter/reducers I've used - like copper ones I've smashed some of those out-of-round. These adapters are much more durable. Very pleased with the 1/2-3/8 adapter purchase. If barbs were as well defined on the 1/4" ends I'd be as happy with them. Overall reasonably happy with these adapters and should work well for many years.

There is no replacement for metal corrosion resistant connectors with fuel lines. The barbs guarantee a secure, leak proof connection.

I installed a radiator overflow tank on my classic car. It has a metric equivalent to a 1/4" input line, and the radiator has a 5/16" output line. Hence the need for this adapter. For the price of getting one of these mailed to me from the online hardware suppliers; I paid a little bit more and bought 6 of these from Amazon. And there is no "flange" between the 2 different sizes, so when you install both hose sizes, one on each end - they butt right up to each other in the middle. Nice.....
