Why Choose JCHENG IR Illuminator?

JCHENG Infrared Illuminator

JCHENG 850nm IR Illuminator -Your Security Needs.

JCHENG 20-LED infrared illuminator serves as supplementary lighting for night vision surveillance cameras. It helps to solve issues like image blurring, dimness, and noise caused by insufficient illumination at night, ensuring that the surveillance cameras can capture clear night vision images.

IRINB20-Effective IR Distance:150ft -240ft

Usage of IR Light

Outdoor Application Scenarios

JCHENG 20-LED infrared illuminator provides auxiliary lighting for night vision surveillance cameras in outdoor scenarios such as home backyard, farms, warehouses, museums, factories, large supermarkets, parking lots, docks, etc.

JCHENG 20-LED IR Illuminator Night Vision Effect

Night Vision IR Light

Before Camera with Its Infrared Light VS After Camera adding with JCHENG 20-LED Infrared Light

Before the camera relies solely on its built-in infrared light during low light or nighttime recording. The range of visibility is limited, leading to darker and potentially blurry footage. After notice how the JCHENG 20-LED IR Illuminator compensates for the limited range and dim lighting, providing a clear and sharp image.

Issue Investigation: IR Effect Falling Short of Anticipated Performance Observed in the Video

Infrared Illuminator

Three Key Factors: 850nm Infrared Light/Installation Tips/Focal Length of Security Camera Lens

1. 850nm infrared light-based Camera: To ensure optimal performance, it is crucial to verify that your camera is equipped with 850nm infrared light technology. Note that variations in lens coatings and sensor settings can impact the effectiveness of infrared light.

Distinguishing between 940nm and 850nm, cameras using 850nm infrared light will display a subtle red glow at night while emitting invisible infrared light. On the contrary, 940nm infrared light remains entirely imperceptible to the human eye and LEDs during night operations.

2. Installation Tips: Proper installation is essential. Position the IR illuminator sensor facing downward to avoid sunlight interference. Ensure that the IR illuminator is installed parallel to the camera for optimal performance. Adjust the white lighting to prevent sensor disruption (automatic activation occurs when ambient light falls below 15 lux). Avoid positioning white lights directly facing the camera and IR illuminator.

3. Focal Length of Camera Lens: For enhanced distance coverage, choose a camera lens that can clearly capture distant objects. If the camera can effectively capture daytime images, the Infrared illuminator will help maintain clear visibility similar to daylight conditions.

By following these guidelines, you can enhance the performance and accuracy of your IR distance monitoring system.

Doesn’t work when temperature is below freezing. When it did work, it did well.

The power adapter failed but contact and exchange with seller went well and they were very helpful to provide replacements. Try to use surge protectors to minimize power adapter fail.

I finally put one of these up and last night was the first time I had a chance to look at the outcome. It is a very well defined "beam" at approximately 30deg. With a height of 15.5' the circle of light was approx 10' in diameter. It was plenty bright with a bright spot in the center. The edges are tight but only 30deg.The build quality is not that great if you look closely. The electronic box on the back doesn't line up at all the mounting points. The mounting bracket is not even made for this fixture, it is bent to wide and you have to force it together to make it fit. It is workable but not right. And it is rather flimsy.

See the attached image. Ignore the left side, the patio is getting lots of help from other cameras. Look only on the right side of the image. See that round lit up area? That's this lamp. Without this lamp, that spot is essentially pitch black. So the lamp makes it visible. Figure it's shining out about 120-130 feet in this pic.On one hand, it's definitely not a wide angle. The camera is wide angle, and it's mounted right near the light, but the lamp is not nearly as wide angle as the camera. It's only covering about half the camera's field of view, if that.On the other hand, in this particular application, I really only needed help for about half the camera's view. So this lamp worked out perfectly. And it's doing a good job of lighting up a very dark place.Keep in mind, too, that the wider the angle, the less intense the light is going to be. The trade-off this one makes is excellent for what I needed in this spot. I'm very happy with it for that reason. One note on the power for this lamp. I tried to piggy-back off the camera's power, via a 1:2 power splitter, but that didn't work. The lamp would come on just fine. But as soon as it got dark and the camera went into night mode and kicked on it's own LED's, the voltage would drop, which made the camera reset. Which of course made the voltage come back up. Once the camera came back up, it would again try to turn on it's own LED's, and reset again. So it was just caught in a loop of constantly resetting and restarting. But I didn't have AC power handy at this spot, and I didn't really want to run it there. So I tried a 100 foot extension for the 12V power for the lamp. I actually just used an extra camera cord and left the BNC side unused, because it's a lot cheaper than an actual 12V power extension cable. Well, it works just fine. I can detect no difference in the lamp's performance with the long 12V extension, as opposed to running power out to the lamp via an AC extension cord. Running 12V out there was much easier and cheaper and safer, and the lamp performs the same.

Just received this today but forgot to click the button to get the free 3A 12v adapter so I'm only using a 2.5A adapter in the photos. But based on the photos of my security camera in night vision mode you can see that it lights up pretty good. I don't have it installed correctly to give a good judgement on the range and angle of coverage so I won't speak on that. Sorry about the low-res on the images, they were taken from my phone app.

I have this side by side with a outdoor camera. This thing is definitely more like a spotlight (maybe 45 deg? ) than a floodlight, but thats awesome. It lights up all the way down the street, at least 240ft, probably more like 260ft. I would highly recommend this light for LONG DISTANCE night time IR illumination. I'm not sure why so many people are giving this a bad review. Its a great light and very inexpensive.

This thing does what it says it will do! I bought 2 of these to cover the front of the house better than the IR lights on the cameras. I have one pointed at the house thats across the street and 2 doors down and it is probably more than 200 feet away. I lights up that house and the house next to it very well. The other one is the same but covereing the 2 houses going the other way. So now I've got my house and 4 others covered by my cameras and floods.I bought these because in the past 6 months 2 of my neighbors have come to me to check and see if my cameras caught anyone messing with their cars in front of their houses. The cameras did record someone but they were just beyond the reach of the stock IR lights and we could not make an ID.These floodlights make my end of the block look like daylight at night!!
