Very clear full sound. responds well to bowing. Replaced a lousy sounding A string in a new set of strings. The rest of the strings sounded great so I just replaced the A string with this Jarger string.

Jargar is always my go to A- string. I was suuper worried to get them here instead of shars but it was worth my while. It sounds too good to be true but this bad boi sounded wayy better than what I had going on.

although these strings are widely used by viola and cello players in combination with other strings, this is my first time to use them. They sounded great and played in almost instantly. I could not believe how quickly they settled in. I replaced an Evan Pirazzi A string that broke and decided to try the Jargar. I'm definitely going to include this in my combination of strings going forward.

Completely agree with the previous reviewer. This string is my favorite A-string. It sings and sounds amazing without falling prey to the typical whiny, tinny, harsh sound metallic-core a-strings tend to have. Two thumbs up!

The Jargar the best viola A string I've found. It's powerful and bright without being tinny or "wire-y" and it goes seamlessly with synthetic strings. The killer set for my instrument is this A with Pirastro Tonica medium for the D, G, and C strings. If you have an instrument that naturally tends toward the bright or squeaky side, this combo might be too bright, I'd probably try the Jargar A with Thomastic Dominant or a full set of Dominants. Remember that all the synthetic strings take a few days to break in, they may be squeaky, metallic, or harsh straight out of the package.
