Maximize Your Experience!

You can get the crispest, clearest resolution for your TV even if it doesn't have HDMI capabilities. A digital ready TV automatically acquires the best screen quality for maximum enjoyment. The iView cable converter box gets all the available channels in your area without skipping a single one, which even a Comcast cable converter box might miss.

The HDMI output on the box can deliver up to 1080p in screen resolution. Analog users can still get a clear image when they use the RGB composite cables.

Versatile Uses, Big Savings!

Have a second or a third TV box but don't want to pay for extra receiver boxes? You won't need the cables and the extra fees just to enjoy watching TV. What's more, you won't have to call and wait in queue for troubleshooting the boxes when there's no signal or when you're getting a blurry picture. Hooking up is as easy as setting the internal antenna to the rooftop to start getting cable and local channels.

The iView Digital Converter Box is much more affordable than an HDMI modulator with a setup that's easy and takes only a couple of minutes. The various outputs can turn your extra PC monitor into a digital media player or a TV. If your computer has an HDMI port you can plug the iView 3500STBIII-A in and watch popular channels such as Fox News, CNN live. This beats paying for streaming content anytime!

How It Works

The iView 3500STBIII-A is pound for pound better than any current cable converter box out there. The tuner box works by acquiring digital channels coming from ATSC, Over-the-Air or ClearQAM, or unencrypted digital cable transmission. The HD content that comes out allows users to receive digital cable without ever needing a set-top box.

Cable companies are adamant about the fact that you will need a set-top receiver in order to pick up digital channels, which is false. The truth is, you can access all digital cable channels that are running through QAM frequencies with a converter like the iView 3500STBIII-A, with the exception of NTSC frequencies.

3500STBII-A

From Analog to Digital

The iView Digital Converter box automatically converts the signal to be compatible with your analog unit. Analog TV owners won't need to get themselves a new TV if they don't want to. The tuner box comes in with input holes for both analog and newer-type TVs.

The iView 3500STBIII-A has a built-in QAM tuner and supports Over-the-Air (OTA), which allows the user to receive some unencrypted digital cable channels, also known as "in-the-clear" channels. You can finally watch TV without needing additional set-top boxes or a monthly cable subscription.

Our iView 3500STBIII-A has passthrough capabilities via firmware to access analog channels in countries and areas where analog signals are still present. You can rely on the iView 3500STBIII-A to acquire the transmission and play it directly to your television set. Analog channels will still be accessible due to our converter boxes' pass-through capability. Broadcasting is still alive and well, even in your old TV.

Media Function

Universal Media Player

The iView 3500STBIII-A can act as a universal media player to churn out any video in AVI, MKV, MPG or MKV formats and any audio files in WMA, MP3, or AAC formats. You will no longer need a video player or get tangled up in the wiring when setting up a digital converter box and a DVD player at the same time.

The 3500STBIII-A sports the following video decoding capabilities- MPEG-2 MP at HL, MPEG-4 SP, ASP, H.264 HP at L4.1, DivX3.11, 4.X, 6.X, FLV format and VC-1.

3500STBII-A

OTA (Over-the-Air) and QAM Capabilities

The iView Digital Box works great in OTA. Once plugged in, the 3500STBIII-A gives you a wider range of channels you can view, with noticeably higher picture clarity. Just take the converter out of the box, connect to your antenna line, and you're ready to go.

Connect your TV via the RCA, YPbPr or HDMI port. The TV set is then programmed to receive the local ATSC signal. Do a quick search to immediately display the channels that are available.

QAM Capability

QAM tuners come built in on some TVs in order to receive cable channels, but analog TVs typically don't have them. The iView 3500STBIII-A comes with QAM, or Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, capability, a format that most cable TV companies use to transmit and encode their signals.

DVR

DVR Capabilities Without The Extra Cost

QAM isn't just for acquiring cable signals. The technology can also be used to record digital content while you're away from the TV. You can play music, movies, and videos in a wide variety of formats using a USB drive connected to your converter box. Choose the preferred show, then hit the Record button and the iView 3500STBIII-A will start recording the show, just like a DVR equipment. You can do a weekly or a monthly recording without any limits or extra fees. Recording works really well here- you won't be able to tell the difference between live and recorded content.

Connect your External HD For DVR recording. Plug your external disk drive in to record movies and shows straight to your device. You can also use the HDD to play content such as movies, music, and videos without any noticeable lag or loss of quality.

I needed a new converter for an old television set. Set up was ok but I was unable to get it to turn the tv on/off, so I had to dig the old remote control out. It found several channels and the picture quality is better than ever. I’m happy with my purchase but the remote control takes getting use to.

I am a retired cable guy. I *really* wanted to like this product. It had all the features that I was looking for, including QAM tuning, a learning remote, and DVR via USB. The sad thing here is that the tuner itself is just complete garbage. I never even got to test the recording capabilities, sadly.I live so close to the broadcast location, that I can nearly see it. Technically, the distance is 5.4 miles, according to my rabbitears.info signal search. I have a TV tuner in my PC monitor, and it picks up everything perfectly! 99% strength, and 90% quality. I can literally get the channels with a paper clip inserted into the coaxial input, but I used an onn. Indoor Antenna for this. The same antenna works on all of my other units. The problem is that no matter how good the signal strength and quality are, the tuner keeps dropping the signal. When viewing the signal meters, you can see them fluctuate wildly for no apparent reason. I wanted to make sure that the issue was with the unit itself, so I bought a different device and slapped it in the same location. No surprise, but it worked perfectly on a different unit of another brand. I even tried all three versions of the firmware which are available on the iView website. Super easy to flash, but none of them any difference at all. The tuner itself is just trash.I do genuinely wish they would figure out how to fix this because the features this device offers are great! It’s just that none of them will do you any good if you can’t hold onto a signal.Take it from a literal cable guy— don’t waste your time here.RETURNED THE SAME DAY.

I bought this converter to be able to record live cable and broadcast programs on a flash drive and edit the recordings on my computer. It works great for this. It is intuitive to understand and program. The recordings are .mts, which are read by my Nero software and easily converted to .mp4. I had a question about an item, and their customer service answered it promptly by email. So, both the quality of the product and the customer service are excellent.

I purchased the IVIEW-3500 STBA III converter box for a second location in my home because I already had an excellent experience with the IVIEW 3500 line for a number of years. These things are quite amazing! I get great reception (including some rather obscure channels), they work flawlessly, give me great image and audio quality, and are very easy to use. The remote control is very intuitive and straight-forward - kind of handsome, too!IVIEW has upgraded these devices over time. The new 3500 STBA version has a new advertised feature: In the EPG (electronic program guide) function, you have the opportunity to move the descriptive portion of the program info up and down from one page to the next, by pushing 3 or 4 on your remote. Very nice! Here's some very plain additional info: When I received the 3500 STBA (as opposed to the original 3500 STB), I noticed that "STB" was printed on the box. Then there was a separate sticker "3500 STBA" that was placed on top of the printed info. A bit confusing, but you'll just have to trust the manufacturer...All in all, a fantastic product that gives me a great TV viewing experience using an old analog TV set or my HD monitor.

I’m not sure how to rate this unit, I was going to give it a glowing 5-star review, but as usual these units seem to develop issues after the first week. What I will say of the 4 different units I have ordered this has been about the best. The remote works well, the buttons have that “click” type feel which I like, also there are a couple of other niceties such as the remote has a “PVR” button that takes you directly to the recordings, also the power button flashes which lets you know its working. The only thing I would change is locating the Play, and Fast Foreword/Reverse buttons further up on the remote. Also, this is the only unit that actually shows the correct station number on the front instead of the other number series that doesn’t seem to relate to the channel you are watching. In regards to problems, after about a week the picture would start flashing out momentary, about a half second or so. I don’t know what causes this but this will last anywhere from a few minutes to 20 minutes, sometimes you can turn the unit off then back on and it will solve the problem but not always, this seems to happen about every other day. Most recently it would flash out for a couple of seconds but that lasted about 10 minutes, so the problem may be getting worse, who knows? The only theory I have is it seems to be when the room is somewhat colder, but this is just a guess. The other issue is the clock one day became 7 hours off (ahead of time) on all of the stations. I played with the clock setting in the menu for a while, and eventually got all but one channel/station to show the correct time (the one I watched the most, of course). But then each day afterwards the time was anywhere from 1 hour to a half hour closer to the correct time. After about five days the time on this channel was correct. I suppose it could have been originating from the station itself but in 5 years of using these types of DVRs this is the first time I have experienced this.

The old previous dust died. I will review more after running the device for some time. I worked right out of the box.
