Works just like the OEM collar ring with the added advantage of the ARCA compatible base built right in.

Considering this 70-200 L USM F4 (Series 1) is ancient, I was skeptical on being able to find a tripod mount that actually fit the diameter. I searched, and searched, found a random forum telling me the diameter, and then searched some more; to find this. The quality is pretty good. It isn’t “Canon” quality, by any means, but it holds up decent so far. It isn’t color matched, which I don’t care about too much. The one thing that irks me is that when on the camera itself, it isn’t 100% center. That’s the main reason for only 4⭐️. I will be going on a 6 day trip to the NC mountains and testing the true usefulness and quality then and may update the review then.

J'ai acheté un 70-200 F/4 d'occasion et le vendeur ne m'a pas fourni la bague. J'ai acheté celle-ci qui me convient très bien. Elle est en métal, d'un blanc crème proche de celui de l'objectif, le diamètre est bon, ça tient bien et ça a l'air solide.Seul petit bémol, je trouve que les deux pas de vis (le 1/4'' et 3/8'') sont un peu proches, ce qui fait que la paroi séparant les 2 trous me semble trop fine, j'ai peur qu'elle finisse par lâcher (d'où l'étoile en moins)

Esta hecho de un material bastante bueno e iguala (muy de cerca al menos) el tono de blanco del objetivo y además lo mantiene firme sobre el tripié. Solo basta con apretarlo solo lo suficiente (no de manera exagerada) y listo. Sostuvo sin problema mi Canon 6D con su battery grip.

What I like the most is that the seller provided accurate dimensions of this mount in the product description. And so it fits my Tamron SP A-30 80-200 f2.8 lens perfectly. This lens is not very big but weighs over 3 pounds. The metal construction and the built in adapter grooves on the base for the tripod ball head seem to make it quite stable and balanced. The paint has a kind of matte finish that I like. The color is a bit more tan than the Canon white lenses, but my lens is black anyway, so I like it. Have not taken it out yet, so do not know about the durability. So far a very good (and fortunate fit) buy for me!

Fits my ARCA mounts, Holds well. May buy more of these Ishoot brand for my other long lenses, as having the ARCA pad built in means a lot more flexibility, faster mount changes, and less chunks of metal to slip and turn when you are leaning over something trying to get things just right for that photo.

I didn't want to spend "Canon" money for the mounting ring. This thing fit perfectly on my EF 70-200 F4 IS lens. Very pleased. Can't beat the price. The felt/material to protect the lens is thin, but seems to work just right.I put only 4 stars on quality of materials... but it still feels pretty darn good.Recommended.

The screw that holds the lense in place broke while installing. While it is cheaper than others, I wouldn't recommend due to the lack of quality production.

Clearly, compared to the Canon version, this offers excellent value and offers a wider feature set in comparison. The build quality, material and finish are about average. The color is a pretty good match for my Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM. However....where it fails for me is how it fits on the lens. It seems to have to be screwed quite tight -perhaps over tight- in order to feel secure which in turn, raises the mount very slightly off the lens as a consequence. Despite feeling confident the mount would securely hold my lens, I ended up returning as a result of this. This might be less of an issue for you in which case, you can pick this mount up for a steal compared to the Canon mount.
