Once started I was able to run it down with a deep socket and I was in an area where there was no room for a top handle.

I used this hard and it’s still sharp. Abused it a bit cutting threads on a hardened rod and it did well. Still sharp.

Having been very disappointed with dies from another so-called "all the tools you need" catalog site, I was pleased to find that I could still find Irwin (Hanson) tools to replace some of the pieces in my set from 1968.

Quality high carbon steel die is the way to go. I got this to thread a brake pushrod from a Chevy Astro hydroboost to adapt a different brake pedal adapter. Worked perfectly. Remember to use a cutting oil or WD40 when using. Should last many uses. Threads are flawless.

Arrived in Irwin packaging. Used it to cut 1.5 inches of threads this morning and it worked great! Patience is required when cutting threads, make sure you back it out when it starts to feel hard to turn and don't forget to oil it as you go. You can never over oil.
