This is for the IQ-Rhein EQUATOR System.
The Violet Equator Caps have a retention strength of 2.7kg/5.9lbs. The required tool for replacement of locator caps is the Universal Retention Caps Insertion/Extraction Tool (Part Number 488EIP-IQ). These caps are only compatible with the IQ-Rhein OT Equator System. Violet Caps are available in 4 packs or 20 packs. FAQ
The Equator Caps I got are too big/small. Are those sold here any different?
- All Equator Caps are the same sizes. They vary in retention strength, not size. If caps do not fit, then wrong system caps have been purchased. It is the best to determine which system you have prior to purchasing any caps.
Is it better to get the strongest retention caps!
- No it is not. Correct retention caps are determined for each person individually based on a number of factors. Mainly comfort and length of time caps last before they no longer hold. The target time frame is 12 months, but no more than that. Most patients do not need the strongest retention. They just need the follow proper technique to maintain and take care of the Caps they have.
How long should my new caps last and need replacement?
- Original genuine caps designed to function for about 12 months. Proper maintenance and regular cleaning is the key. If caps last you less than 12 months, then you may want to consider getting next level strength caps. Once you reach 12 months of comfortable use stay with that color.
- Make sure to use thumbs to press the fixture down into place in the first few days after replacement of caps and NOT jaw to snap in place.
Do I need a tool to remove and replace caps?
- Yes you need the Universal Multi-System Insertion/Removal Tool (part number 488EIP-IQ)
- Without a tool you most likely will damage the Caps at the very beginning and they will not work.
Caps I bought do not fit. Can they be returned?
- The only way caps do not fit is when they are purchased for the wrong system. If manufacturer's seal is broken, package cannot be returned as it is considered a HAZMAT.

Thought they were inserts to go into my caps on my implant denture..they were 1/8 of the size

I will never go to my dentist again just to change my implant caps. Everytime I get it change they charge me $20 a piece 😒 plus the dental office visit. I also got the universal tool. It's easy to replace you can do it yourself. I would only go back to my dentist if it's something major.

This my second set of iq caps and I find them easier each time to put them in using the tool you purchase separately. The make my teeth fit so tight that I can eat steak or corn on the cob. Once in they stay stil I remove them and I have not had even one fail.

They are a little expensive but far cheaper than going to the office for my dentist to do them. They are of the same quality as my originals and I don’t have to worry about anything popping loose as I eat. 👍👍
