This auger is the best ice fishing equipment I have purchased yet. Great battery life, lots of torque cutting the holes. Made it a breeze to cut and clear holes so I can get to fishing!

This cuts through the ice like butter, 2 feet of ice thickness no problem. I have my line in instantly without having to mess around with a gas auger, it weighs about 10 pounds. I love how you can take the battery off and charge it quickly. I highly recommend this product

After using a hand auger for years, this electric auger is a lifesaver! It literally takes seconds what used to take 20 to 30 minutes. Not to mention the pain of using a hand auger. Spend more time fishing, less time drilling your holes!

The best auger I've ever used...cuts effortlessly, went through a foot of ice in literally 2 or 3 seconds. Lightweight, no cranking, no mixing oil, unlike the gas models....and it always starts!If you ice fish, the Ion is essential. The "cat's ass" of ice augers!

Tired of using a manual auger? This is the answer. Don't bother with gasoline powered augers. This auger eats through the ice with ease but doesn't spin ridiculously fast so it doesn't splash an excessive amount of water onto the ice once you've drilled through. I would definitely buy this again.

Really happy with this purchase. Originally purchased the ION R1 and never could get it to fire up so returned it and opted for this latest ION G3. Instructions were fine and easy to attach the few things. I'm really happy with this G3. Drilling in 18in ice with unbelievable speed. Drilled about a dozen holes on this first outing. After the first hole I relegated most of the rest drilling to my novice Grandson.Was surprised at not needing to put any downward pressure on the auger to drill like I had with my old Gas powered auger. It cut thru the ice like it was butter. The mechanics of switching from forward to reverse via a simple switch worked well and was a novelty since my old gas auger doesn't do reverse. Also liked the battery lock mechanism vs the rubber one on the returned R1.Battery held up fine and still showed fully charged when we packed up to go home. We brought the auger inside the hut while fishing since weren't sure about the effects of cold on it. Will experiment overtime.I would definitely recommend this ION G3 Auger and look forward to many years of use.HardWaterRuss
