If you take your auger bit off frequently this is a must have item. It’s slightly looser than I expected, but works perfectly, and prevents dropping pieces and tools in the snow or water when detaching/attaching the bit. An added bonus is it allows you to drill another 4” deeper due to the lengthened shaft when installed. It includes an adapter that lets you screw in ice anchors to hold your tent down. Highly recommend.

Does what it's supposed to butTwo complaints:1. Very loose and wobbly after installation. Auger was tight and snugly connected to the auger bit or extension before quick connect installation.2. If you grab the auger at the balance point or under the gearbox in a vertical grip, you can activate the quick release and drop your auger bit. Kind of concerning with a bit that doesn't float.

Happy with everything I got and how it works. However the red Anchor install adapter never came in the package. Missing, as in someone removed it previously from the package. Not impressed.

Easy installation and worked perfectly to attached auger to electric Eskimo e40 power unit. Also comes with tent stake attachment to make securing your ice shelter much easier.

Works fine, drills straight with no wobble. bit for the anchor screws seems to fall off after every anchor is drilled in. Not sure what is going on with that but it still embeds the anchor faster then doing it by hand. As long as I don"t lose my auger bit down the hole I am ok with it.

I really wanted to like this kit, I got it mainly for the ability to quickly connect the ice anchor tool, and not have to carry a hand drill just for that purpose. I first put together my new E40 auger, everything fit nice and tight, felt really good. Then, I added this kit. The pieces bolted into the auger bit and head nice and tight, but once the two pieces are connected together, the fit was pretty loose. The bit wobbles quite a bit with this kit, I understand there needs to be some clearance for the two pieces to fit together, but the looseness and wobble is excessive in my opinion. I've got everything all put together correctly, and the connection piece is locked in place, not an error on my part.If not for the looseness, I would have kept it, but I'm returning this kit.Some additional information, this kit adds about 3 1/2" to the overall height of the auger. For me it puts it in a slightly awkward position but nothing I wouldn't have been able to get used to. This kit also adds about 14oz to the overall auger weight. Again, not a big deal, but if you are looking to shave every bit of weight out of your setup, something to consider.
