The product stopped working after one month . The battery cover keeps falling out too. The seller is unwilling to solve the problem like exchanging the item . Very poor product quality and customer service . Not recommend !

The reason I say this is the best kept secret is that if you do a search for metronomes this company never comes up. You have to put in the name and model number to find it. This is a great metronome. When my youngest began violin lessons I bought a different one and his teacher showed me hers. So I bought a used one and it is still working great. Now my oldest is going to college in the fall for piano and he needs one that doesn't wind up so I bought him a brand new one. Highly recommended.

This is the best ever metronome. I play the violin and it is loud enough for me to hear.

My favorite tuner/metronome. I truly have never found one to compete with this well designed unit. It does everything you want....tuning by digital display or sound. (visual or aural) It can be loud enough to be heard over a string quartet or soft enough not to wake the baby. There is an ear bud/headphone port. There are a variety of rhythm patterns, counts per measure, a "tick tock" sound to help with the all important SUBDIVISION of the beat. I have used this item for over 20 years and recommend it to all my string students. Don't waste your money on a different tuner/metronome. You will never need a different one. In addition, this is built well and has survived many drops to the floor from the music stand. I have my original one duct taped together as the battery compartment cover broke when it was dropped on a hard floor once. Still keeps on tuning and ticking!

Love this thing, really makes my practices so much better. Clear read out, easy to switch metronome: has 2 memories on the metronome so you can switch with the push of a button between two set beats for example 63bpm on M1 then 120bpm M2. Very solid construction, I've thrown this thing at the wall in a fit one day and it still works great, LOL.Only and I do mean only negative is this thing eats batteries goes through at least 1 a month so I just recently invested in a rechargeable 9v. Has a jack to plug it in but I don't want to fool with a cable, or have to buy a universal cord (no cord included).Has a great microphone for picking up tones, I think this is the best tuner I've had for acoustic guitar. I've even sung into the thing to figure out pitch and it worked terrific.Love the volume on the metro sometimes I go high sometimes low depending on speed, distortion and other factors.Highly Recommended!!*Update Sept 09, 13*Well, it lasted a year of roughly 12-18 hrs a week so approximately 800 hrs before it put off the dreaded burnt wire smell and just quit. Lasted longer than most I've had but think I'll switch to something else this time.

I am a flute player, and must say that this is one of the best metronome/tuners for the money EVER made. The metronome's sound can get EXTREMELY loud, and is very useful when going into the upper octaves, especially when slurred. The tuner is really great, and covers just about the whole range of the flute, but unfortunately, doesn't really register very much of the piccolo, however, it can turn out a sound for every pitch for every instrument which can improve your overall aural skills. The hygrometer is especially great if you have a wooden instrument. Just go into a room, turn the metronome or tuner on then off, and the thermometer (which can read in Centigrade or Fahrenheit) and hygrometer stay on the screen. The hygrometer and thermometer will reset, and check them to see if its just right. This way, you know if its safe to leave your instrument (one of your largest investments) in that room or not. Overall, I recommend this metronome/tuner/thermometer/hygrometer to EVERYONE. I am seeing more and more instrumentalists with this model, and it is not only a 'mainly string thing'. :)Happy shopping, I hope this helps with your decision!

I bought this after seeing my boys' violin teacher using it during one of her lessons. Our first metronome was Seiko SQ50, but its max sound was easily drown out by my boys' violin and piano playing. Then when I first heard how significantly louder this was during one of my boys' violin lessons, I immediately ordered it.This turns out to be the perfect metronome/tuner for my boys' both violin and piano practices. It not only tunes their violin perfectly each and every time, but it is loud enough that it doesn't get drown out by their playing instruments. Yet, it is small enough to be carried around inside a violin case or in your pocket. Some folks might not appreciate the fact that the source of the sound is on the metronome's back side and not the front. However, the sound is big and clear enough that it makes no difference for us. If we want the loudest sound possible, then we just turn it around. It comes with a pull out stand, so it can be self-standing on any flat surfaces. The fact that it also functions as a temperature meter (in both farenheit and celcius) and a hygrometer is an absolute plus, as any serious musicians would need to monitor their environment in both the temperature and humidity levels for the safe keeping of their instruments. With this multi-functioning perfect unit, I don't think I'll ever be looking for another.By the way, it's also a very handsome looking unit -- an additional plus! I'd highly recommend this product.UPDATE (3 YEARS LATER): Wow, time sure flies. It only felt like a year ago when I got this. Since then this unit has been used almost daily, been dropped on our hard wood floor several times, yet it still looks and functions just like when I first got it. It's now used by my boys' quartet as other members' metronome is not strong enough.
