I bought this thermometer to measure the heat of cookware while preparing meals, using the laser feature. My wife and I recently purchased some nonstick cookware, and want to make sure the surface temperature of the pans does not exceed the safe and recommended temperature. The thermometer gives us peace of mind.I like the large lit display, in contrast to another brand I bought a few years ago that only displayed black numbers against a grey background. I have also used it to measure the temperature of air being emitted from the AC vents in our home, and, like that the outer laser dots measure the surrounding area of the vent with a separate reading. Very nice! The only thing that I am wondering about is the rather cheap feeling plastic trigger's durability, but, hopefully it won't break any time soon. Time will tell. All in all, though, very satisfied with this product.
