I have used this tape for over 40 years. It is an all purpose tape. I especially like to use it to securing envelopes, boxes, around the house. This tape with my hand held tool used daily.

I recently purchased the Industrial Grade Clear Packing Tape 6 Rolls and have mixed feelings about it. While it certainly has many positive aspects, there are a couple of drawbacks that might be a deal-breaker for some.First, the good parts: The length of each roll at 110 yards is very convenient. I don’t have to switch rolls frequently, even when packing a large number of boxes, which saves a lot of time and hassle. The acrylic adhesive provides excellent sticking power. The tape adheres firmly to cardboard and other surfaces and doesn’t peel off, even during long shipments. It’s definitely heavy-duty as advertised. The tape’s transparency is also a plus, as it doesn’t obscure any labels or markings on the boxes, making it easy to identify the contents without disrupting the packaging. However, there are a few downsides. For my specific needs, the 2-inch width turned out to be a bit too narrow. I’ll likely be looking for a wider tape in the future to better secure my packages. Additionally, I found the 2.7 mil thickness to be somewhat insufficient. The tape felt a bit too thin and flimsy, and I would prefer something sturdier.Overall, this tape is great for general packing and shipping tasks, but it might not be the best choice for those who need a wider or thicker option. I’ll be opting for a different product next time that better fits my requirements.I hope this review helps others in making their decision!

It’s tape - not tons to say but it is sticky on one side and not the other. It’s thicker than other tape I’ve used, meaning it doesn’t tear weirdly and it’s easy to find the end even when stuck down on the roll. Ok, it’s really good tape.

This tape is the bane of my existence. It smells so bad, you can't help but wonder what chemical compound you are huffing while you tape up a box. The WORST part is that the core isn't quite the right size for a standard tape dispenser and it walks off the roller and wads up, thus sticking to itself. It makes packing a box a 2 person job. Awful stuff. Hate it.

These are 110 YD rolls and 2.7 mil is a good thickness to avoid having to put multiple layers in order to hold your box shut. The adhesive has a decent odor and is not annoying. The Clear tape makes it easy to read labels or barcodes through. This is a good hot weather tape. I don't feel like it would be good in extremely dry or cold conditions. Served my needs nicely and had a decent price point.

This is good tape. I use it all the time for packing shipment. It adheres very well to cardboard, remains flush, it's very strong and holds parcel together securely so it can arrive at it's destination safely, we use 3" Uline heavy duty dispenser and it fits perfect. I've tried a number of different brands and this one has recently become our regular replenishment due to the value and quality it provides. Highly recommended.

Update 0400521: Came back to order more, discovered it's nearly doubled in price, in less than a year. We are so tired of this trend from third party vendors on amazon! There's absolutely no legit reason for prices to fluctuate that much, that fast. We've left our original review below, as our thoughts on the product quality hasn't changed, aside for it not sticking to cardboard quite as well as we'd like. But obviously our search for an honest supplier continues...Don't you just hate going to reorder something you like and trust, but bought a year or more ago, to discover either the price has shot WAY up or it's no longer available at all? The later seems to be the case more often than not with packaging supplies especially. No matter how well rated, every year there is a whole new host of new brands to choose from, meaning another hour or three trying to make sense of all the conflicting reviews of unfamiliar brands and trying to see which is the best value. Well, as of a month ago, when we purchased this tape, it was without question the best value we found. And after shipping a couple dozen boxes, we're convinced of it's quality, especially for the money. We can only hope that they're still around, and still just as competitively priced in a year or two, which based on our meager shipping is probably about when we'll need more. These are large rolls that fit typical industrial tape dispensers (you know the kind with a large pistol grip); large rolls that make full use of your dispenser, why so many companies bother with the half-size rolls (or smaller!) I don't understand. The tape itself is medium weight - thick enough that it doesn't wrinkle up if you're not super careful, but it's not going to be ideal for heavy packages, like shipping audio amplifiers or receivers. It's a great weight balance for most typical package weights. It's not so super clear that you can read writing on the paper core. Though, I've never quite understood why anyone would need it to be. It may look yellow on the roll, but it doesn't look remotely yellow when applied. We completely cover the tracking barcode on packages we ship with it, and even when using an inkjet printer set on economy ink saving mode, which prints a medium gray, it's still easily transparent enough for the post office to scan through the tape.Obviously, it sticks like glue to poly mailers. Some have commented that the type of adhesive this type of tape uses, as commonplace as it is, can pull up when applied to cardboard. We haven't noticed that problem ourselves, and tested some before using it to see if after several days it was showing any signs of losing adhesion. So far it seems as sticky as even heavier duty brands we've purchased in the past costing over twice as much. I can only assume if it came loose for someone, either they had bad set, something that I've never seen in 20 years of buying packaging tape, even from the cheapest made brands, or they failed to apply it properly, as most manufacturers recommend rubbing it in. I believe warming up the glue in such a way makes it adhere better. We'll usually go over it with a wood roller a couple times, but just rubbing it in with your finger tips does the job. Of course, making sure the roller on the dispenser presses against the box correctly should work too.A great price on good tape. Easy to recommend, all things considered.
