I used this on fresh cement and it worked very well. it does wear out, but it did the job it had to do and was reasonably priced.

I do part time blacksmith work. I needed something to grind scale and get a relatively smooth finish inside of custom spoons. This ball burr on a die grinder too does the trick. Great results for low cost.

Great for creating curved countersinks and de-burring holes. They do stuff not much else can do!

It would not even grind through one layer of paint let alone the wood underneath.

I received this product in exchange for my honest review as part of the Amazon Vine Program. Seller ILOVETOOL lists this as "ILOVETOOL 12 mm Dia Spherical Head Diamond Grinding Bit Coated Mounted Points Round Ball Burs Grit 80 Shank 6mm Coarse Tools for Stone". See Picture. This coarse 80 Grit diamond plated type bit can be used on all types of stone to smooth an existing hole's edges for example. All diamond grit bits MUST be used with water to lubricate the bit. This will carry the grindings away and reduce wear on the tool. I find that using non-hardening Plumber's Putty to build a dam around the surface being ground works well if you cannot direct a steady stream of water onto the cut or cut underwater in a shallow container. NEXT you MUST know that this will "grind" slowly the glass or rock slab and does not "cut" like a toothed burr will in wood or metal. The diamond grit is plated in a thin layer to the outside in this tool; much more costly versions use a thicker sintered diamond layer. Excess pressure will damage and render useless your diamond bit - slow and intermittent light pressure in an up/down manner allows water to enter the cut and carry off debris being ground. As this bit is spherical using a drill press won't be necessary. Remember hand and eye protection as glass and stone chips can seriously injure you. This is a light duty diamond ball 12mm bit; for extensive grinding I would use a commercial grade sintered diamond bit (at much, much more cost.) NOT for use on METAL or wood. Conclusion: A useful 12mm Ball shaped Diamond plated bit for brief jobs of smoothing the edges of a hole in glass and stone or as required for a similar purpose. Water to lubricate the tool MUST be used or the bit will rapidly be destroyed, stripping off the diamond plated layer. Recommended for light use.
