I needed some new long tweezers to plant some stems. My old ones were very hard to use. These are a world of difference. I can squeeze them easily and maneuver in the gravel and sand. When I pull the tweezers out, the plants stay in the substrate instead of coming back up. I like that there are 2 kinds. I’ve also used the sand rake to even out any spots that my pleco dug up.I already had some plant scissors from another brand that I liked better than these. But the rest of the set is exactly what I needed!I got the black color and they look sleek. The scissors had some of the coating scratch off right near the screw, but all the others are good. They all feel like great quality in my hands and get the job done.

The finish leaves a lot to be desired: the edges are all "unbroken" meaning that they are sharp and uncomfortable to hold. This can be fixed by taking some sandpaper or emery cloth to them but of course that will scratch up the pretty colors. This should have been done by the manufacturer before the the color finish was applied. Also, the tool holder doesn't work for tanks that have a frame and lip on top, the vertical pieces are set too close together to straddle the rim. But the set is cheap.

I’m glad I didn’t opt for something more expensive. I was very hesitant to buy a full kit for the price of a single pair of scissors from competitors, but these are totally sufficient. They aren’t just passable, but they look, work, and feel good. The tweezers are similar. I don’t use the gravel spreader, but of all of the tools, I suspect this one is the least likely to disappoint. It’s just a stick with a triangle on the end. What could go wrong? If you’re on the fence and considering spending more, I recommend starting with these and seeing how you feel in a few months. You will probably like these and forget other options entirely. So far I have no rusting or other corrosion after several uses. I’m drying them well before storing them; if you don’t, you very well could have issues.

Just started aquascaping, and this tool set is exactly what I needed. Quality is good and the storage bag is a nice touch. I have to agree that the included scissors are not the best. While they do cut, the screw holding the 2 pieces are ridiculously tight. If you are trimming something delicate like Java moss, I don't recommend it. But for something with thicker stalks, it will work fine (even if you get a hand cramp). Will probably use it for my houseplants.Word of advice: Always wipe and dry the tools completely. This will help to prevent any rust. If you use aquarium salt definitely rinse and wipe down.
