Copper Tube Expander Swaging Tool. Handy tool. Instead of connecting two copper tubes together with a straight connector, this tool expands one of the tubes to allow the other tube to slide into the expanded tube. Fewer trips to the hardware store for connectors. This is for soft copper tubing, not hard rigid tubes. This tool can also be used to flare the end of soft tubes.

You have to be careful that the tool doesn't go too far in. It does a good enough swage

I have been swaging copper the old fashioned way for 26 years of residential HVAC installations. I had seen a similar set of these in the wholesaler's catalogue for well over $100. Since this is such a new concept to me I thought I'd give this one a try. I like that it's all in one and easy to keep up with.My observations: I use a small12 volt DeWalt drill for everyday things. If I need something bigger I go plug-in. Just my preference. The 12 volt struggles on 3/4 swages and I have to use low speed, but that's ok. I think I get better results with low speed on all sizes. A bigger drill would probably not have a problem.The heat generated seem to be part of the process. It takes a few extra turns to get the copper out to the required stretch, but once it's there the connecting piece inserts like it has butter on it.The shaft might be an issue for those 1/4 quick insert drills. It looks like it is slightly smaller than those. I prefer keyless chucks anyway.Very glad I purchased.

this tool is good for different professions but not mainly for plumbing due its size we only use 3/4 1/2 1in 11/2 1/14 2in

I wish they would of milled the end a little bit better when i use this bit i sometimes have to fight with it to get out of my drill and dose mot do a 3/4 " swedge very well anything under especially 3/8 i have a swedged puce in under 5 seconds and for idk 20 something bucks i love it this tool has saved me from doing it the old school way with a block a hammer and swdge half the tim i notice that when im hammering i either start bending where i dont want or i gouging out the inside of the pipe. Fyi wear gloves she gets hot lol
