This fish finder is great to use. The colours, temperature of the water, visuals of what's in the water... we love it.

This depth gauge aka fish finder was the perfect replacement for our old depth gauge that no longer worked. It was easy to install and worked instantly like a charm. We used the previous connecting line to 'fish' the new line through the hull. (Note, if you are concerned about the base attachment, the base screw holes didn't match up perfectly with the previous holes but covered 2 of the 4 holes. Minor patch up for the other 2 holes.) The screen is bright and easy to read even when the sun glare is stronger. We navigate through tidal creeks and rivers so this gauge is just what we needed. Very happy with this purchase!

The unite performance is as advertised. no compilates there. My beef is the fact a 1 amp fuse and housing is not supplied with the unit even though it is required.I ended up having to buy 3 wired housings and 25, 1 amp Minni fuses at an additional cost of $ 16 plus dollars. and about hour searching the internet then having have them shipped. If it was provided with unit might have been 1.50 $ added purchase price.Poor marketing !!!

This is a great fishfinder for the price. Humminbird is a good company that stands behind their products. One caution I have is that it is only rated for 13.5 volts, and my new Honda 10 hp puts out 14.5. The Honda shorted out the Humminbird and it could not be restarted, but Humminbird replaced it for a service charge. I recommend this little fishfinder.

Works well, only used once so far but it seems accurate for depth finding and easy to set up and use

I've been a big fan of Humminbird fish finders for many years. I just recently retired a BottomLIne (aquired by Johnson Outdoors and transitioned into the Humminbird line) Fishin Buddy Sidefinder, and based on that product both my brother- and father-in-law have owned the Fishin Buddy II and Hummingbird Fishin Buddys. I also own a Humminbird 570 DI, which I love, but like all the newer products the transducer is not portable even though the head unit can be, so it is dedicated to one of my fly fishing craft. But I have a couple of others and needed something completely portable to replace the old Fishin Buddy. No worries, I can put any of these smaller fish finders on a stick, and chose this one. I do most of my fishing from about 12-20 ft, with night fishing forays down to 8 or so. OMG. This thing is practically useless at those depth ranges. Even with the sensitivity turned down to 0, there is a lot of clutter. Furthermore, the manual and auto ranges at the lower end are 15 and 30 ft. On auto range at, say, 10 ft, it penetrates so far into a typical bottom (for me, anyway) that it stays on the 30 ft range, with more than half the screen displaying sub-bottom. Not really useful. Nor can I reasonablly put it on manual, because with only 15 and 30 ft choices, neither are acceptable if I'm trying to follow a bottom profile anywhere in the neighborhood of 15 ft, which is common. I'll either lose the bottom or have half the screen showing bottom. And at night? Even on minimum backlight its so bright that you can't avoid night blindness. I have this problem a bit with the 570, but this is so much worse. This was never an issue with the Fishin Buddys. So I returned it and have moved on. Johnson Outdoors is apparently no longer interested in catering to small craft fishermen. For people that fish mostly in deeper waters, I suppose it would be fine.
