I use these types of "fish finder" mounts inside vehicle's when I'm installing emergency equipment, as they allow light controllers to be placed in non-typical places and angles. This mount is rock solid when tightened down, and doesn't flex at all when using the switch boxes installed on it.

This is one quality mount that holds firm. The solid aluminum mounting plate is much larger than I had anticipated even though I had read the specs. That is a good thing though since it will be much more versatile. Being solid aluminum it is heavier than the similar composites but that only makes it much stronger. Both plates are pre-drilled (ball plate and mounting plate) and everything is anodized well. The mount does included a set of both 4 stainless steel screws and 4 stainless steel bolts with matching nylon lock nuts but depending on your mounting they may or may not be the correct size and/or length. I have several mount pieces from this manufacturer and have not been disappointed in any of them. This mount holds firm and the slightly larger t-nut to tighten it down is much easier to turn than the smaller ones on some other brands. I would highly recommend this mount.

This is built incredibly well. The casting is super strong. It looks fantastic.But when tightened as hard as I possibly could by hand, I could still move the stand by hand without a lot of effort.I've transitioned from 1" B size balls to 1.5" ball and sockets on a lot of my equipment because of the extra rigidity that 1.5" is capable of. Hit some Lake Superior chop at a bad angle and your radar doesn't bob its head. I'm less confident that this beefy mount will afford the same stability.When I look at all my other 1.5" mounts, 6 of them, all very stiff, they all have one feature this lacks. Grooves cut into the sockets. It is my firm belief that those groves provide edges to 'bite' into the ball. The sockets on this item are just too smooth in my opinion.Its not a loss, because the platform on this one is by far the best. I'll just swap out the socket halves from a mount on a lighter piece of gear. That is the beauty of interchangeable standard part interfaces. I like it very much.Now if we could get more consistent bolt hole spacing. Perhaps equipment should start coming with the BCD for 1.5" ball round plate mounts located at their center of gravity.

I highly recommend i mounted a garmin 1042xsv. Ran it 98 miles this weekend in rough bay water never had go touch it

Very nice mount. I put my 12" Garmin on it and it is absolutely rock solid. I can't believe the quality for the low price. It is so nice to have my graph move around so I can see it from different spots in the boat. Two thumbs up.👍👍

Said it was compatible with the Lowrance Elite FS 9 but the holes do not line up.Had to drill my own holes to make it fit.Other than that it works fine.

This mount is well made and very sturdy when installed. My Garmin fish finder fits perfectly on top. I am quite pleased with this product.
