Sturdy wire bail with a plastic handgrip is attached to the bucket. Practical Fill is 5. 0 gal. (19.30 liters) and overflow fill is 5.40 gal. (20.44 liters). Meets food grade standards. BPA free. These were recommended to me by a food storage expert. They look like a standard bucket, but the screw-on lid makes the difference. They hold a great amount of product and so far they are working as described. I’m glad that I now have the basics in food storage.

Yes these buckets are heavy duty. The lids fit perfectly, a little hard to put on the snap-on part, but that makes for a good seal. The screw lid mated to the service with a tight seal. Yes, I did buy more of them.

I did not do a review right away because I was waiting on my product that I purchased to go in the buckets. It arrived and I un-bagged the buckets and proceeded to wash them. Both buckets were in good shape. Beware- if you do not have a rubber mallet to put the ring on the bucket that the lid screws on to - you will need one. I put dry peas in one and quinoa in another. I gave it a four star because I did not know that I needed a rubber mallet to put the ring on the bucket. I still think it is a good buy.

We are using these to store rice and flour long term (up to 10 years+). The resealable lids make it perfect to open/re-open when time comes to sue them. Currently, we have 3-4 oxygen absorbers in the buckets along with the foods (rice and flour) and should stay usable for a decade until used. Then, you can use it "daily" for about another 8-10 months.
