While this telescope is great for kids, I think it's good enough for adults who just want to have a good time looking at the sky. Perhaps it's not professional grade, but then we aren't astronomers. We have quite a bit of light pollution where we are, but we can see "out there" pretty well. We are planning to take it on a road trip to Roswell soon, and can't wait to see the Milky Way through this equipment. "The Truth is Out There," and though we don't expect to find it anytime soon, maybe we'll get a glimpse of something...

I bought this for my husband. The first night he took it out the knob that tightens the telescope so you can angle it, stripped out. He is going to find a new one in his stash. Otherwise he likes it.

I’ve been an amateur stargazer for 50 years, since I was a kid. In that time, my knowledge of the sky and ability to identify planets and stars has ebbed and flowed. In the past few years, despite keeping an app on my phone, I’d gotten weak again and forgotten quite a bit. But that turned out to be kind of a good thing, because with this telescope, everything is new again and just as thrilling. There’s a lot to learn with even this relatively basic telescope, and I still have a long way to go, but setting it up did take some time as I read the manual thoroughly to ensure the most accurate setup. It’s also good to practice and know what each knob controls. It’s super disappointing when, just as you center the moon or one of the planets in the viewfinder, you go to tweak the arrangement and hit the wrong one. In one quick fell swoop, the hard fought focus is gone. But as I’ve gotten better and learned more about each aperture and the filters, I’ve had hours of fun now just looking at the moon, let alone all the planets and nearby stars. The quality of the optics seems good to me, but again, I’m no pro. This is a great item for bringing the family together again around a common and fascinating subject. Best of all, rather than everyone staring at their individual phones, you have to talk to each other and share to use the telescope together—and it’s such a joy to return to communicating with each other.

The adjustable tripod is sturdy and offers good stability, which is crucial when trying to focus on distant objects. The included finder scope makes it easier to locate and center objects before viewing them through the main eyepiece. Speaking of eyepieces, the telescope comes with a couple of different options, allowing us to switch between lower and higher magnifications. This flexibility has been great for tailoring our viewing experience based on what we are observing.One feature that particularly stands out is the included smartphone adapter. This has added a whole new dimension to our stargazing sessions, allowing us to capture photos and videos of our observations. Sharing these images with friends and family has been a joy, and it has further engaged my kids in the process.

They say you get what you paid for. For this price I think this telescope is decent. It might not be the best, or the most powerful but at least it can offer you an experience of seeing what you won’t be able to see just by looking at the sky with your eyes at night. After assembling the telescope, the top part (with the small eyepiece) doesn’t align well with the rest of the telescope. I don’t know if that’s how it was meant to look!! In the photos that I attached this can be noticed.

I bought for as a Christmas present and today after opening it I realized it was used and doesn't function properly. Return window is now closed. Now I'm out $80 and have a used junk telescope.
