This telescope is quite nice. The markings on it don't seem quite authentic, but maybe there is no need for it to be confused with an actual antique. As a hand held spyglass, its functionality is genuine. Its length and weight suggest resting the front end over a railing or bracing one's hand against a post, for it is long and a little heavy, hard to hold steady for much time just in the hands. As spyglasses go, this one is pretty large. For high quality viewing, meanwhile, this isn't bad, but a modern pair of good binoculars or a decent mounted telescope would be a step up for seeing details.

I really bought this more for it's antique look than anything. It does actually work fairly well, but it looks great on the mantle!

I purchased these as a gift for Christmas for my son-in-law. he has a construction company and I told him now he can use it to spy on his workers we laugh about and he say that he looks real nice. He will put it on a display in his office. I’ll recommend this item when we open it, it looks nice well and fabricated. It was every penny if you appreciate it handcraft stuff.

Telescope: Looks great. Feels great. Actually works. My kids love it. Case: Fairly cheap feeling and looking. Strap doesn't make sense, have to unthread it to open it. However it holds the telescope.

This is the perfect spy telescope for a Pirate prop and the only one I could find longer than 15". The package arrived in excellent condition within a few days. It has a nice storage case too. I am very happy

This scope is literally amazing. Love the faux tarnish on this beautiful brass telescope! Highest magnification and biggest pirate scope on the market. Lens cap works better as a rest, doesn't adhere to scope very well, but honestly, who needs it. The case is a barely stained piece of crap that melted onto my hands as soon as I touched it.

The telescope can be disassembled by unscrewing all the connected pieces ... Use BRASSO* with a small cloth and polish each piece, then, with a little WD-40 on the threads and carefully reassemble each piece. (Don't strip the threads, be gentle and patient) ... Clean, dry brass will oxidize naturally over time. ( I like the look of honest tarnish) or, polish from time to time if clean and shiny is the look you prefer ... The case/holder has what looks to be an outer leather-like veneer molded to a semi-hard synthetic cloth or cardboard. (Someone decided to coat the leather veneer with a water-base stain to make it darker) REMEDY: Disassemble the strap from the case and Remove this stain under warm running water with a toothbrush, concentrating on the rivets (You can use your bare hand, the stain just washes off) ... Don't get water on the inside of the case and finish quickly. (You have about a one to two minute window before the case starts absorbing too much water) ... Towel dry the case and straighten any deformities on the edges the water might have caused ... Secure the lid carefully and set aside to dry ... When dry, which won't take long, the case will be very ridged ... The case has a nice tan color and is very permanent ... I decided to Dye the case Black ... I also replaced the strap with a longer modified purse strap and gave it some length ...
