This product is a good deal for the price. I wanted the light pad so that I could photograph some old black-and-white negatives for later processing. My concern was that the light wouldn't be bright enough, but it was plenty bright for the task. I would highly recommend this product.

This light box does exactly what I hoped, and appears to be very well designed and made. It works great. The range of brightness settings covers my needs and more. It is thin and light, yet it also seems to be quite solid and durable. I really didn't expect this level of quality given the price. Highly recommended.

This reveiw is for the B4 size. Perfect size I need to make photos of some awkward sized 9x12 inch 35mm contact sheets. Comes with USB cable, protective sleeve, no wall wart. WARNING: Consult the sheet that comes with your device and if you use a wall wart be absolutely certain you are using the correct REGULATED voltage, positive tip. UNregulated wall warts can deliver much more voltage than printed on their label. The B4 device uses 5V, the A3 and larger sizes use 12 or 24V (and the sheets says they come with a power supply.) The B4 device does not get warm during use; if it does you may be using the wrong power supply and in danger of blowing it out. Illumination is very uniform. The sheet says the B4 size is 500 LM, that seems a stretch, but it is bright enough to make good copies of transparencies in a dark room, and do tracing. Color temp is neutral and color rendition is fine. Basically this device seems to be a laptop backlight without the laptop. The only weak point is tha there is no strain relief on the power cable where it emerges from the frame. To help with this I have taped the cable to the side of the frame to keep it from dangling back and forth while I use it. I've only had it a couple weeks, I'll edit this review if it has any longevity issues.

I have owned a few of these inexpensive drawing pads. This is far better than the others I've had.Pros:1. It's brighter than others. SO nice!2. It's thicker/sturdier with a frame around the edge.3. The cord is not a micro or mini USB on the tablet. Those are what failed on every other one I've owned. That alone is worth the price and makes it far more durable than ones with the micro/mini USB.4. The power & brightness adjustments LOCK so that when your hand brushes over them it doesn't shut off or change brightness. That is awesome.5. Comes in multiple sizes. I chose the B4 because I usually draw on 9x12. However, now that I see how much nicer this is I think I may order a larger one too.6. It actually comes with a protective bag to put it in.Cons:I'm not sure it even matters, but the light is not even. It's just slightly brighter to one side than the other.

Executive Summary (TL;DR):For $20 USD, this is a pretty killer deal if you need a light box: it is very slim and lightweight, the metal frame is quite sturdy, the light is bright and adjustable, and you can power it using using regular wall AC or USB power brick.Details:These are my very early impressions having used the light table for about a week, so they may change over time. If they do, I'll post an update.I bought this for tracing: I have photos that I would like to turn into pen and watercolor paintings. It is easy in Adobe Photoshop to open an image, duplicate the image layer, apply the Find Edges filter, then add a Black and White adjustment layer to get a very usable line tracing from the image. Add a Curves adjustment layer to dial in contrast. Voila! a printable line drawing from an image.Thing is, I'm a complete noob at this and my pen and ink skills are still a bit shaky (I was going to say sketchy...). I'm using the light board to trace the more technical parts of the drawing. So far, I've been pretty pleased with the results. Here are the things that I really like about this:- as others have said, the light is quite bright and it is adjustable- it is very slim, lightweight, and easily portable- the version I bought came with a longish power cable and a power adapter, which I appreciate- the two plastic clips don't feel very sturdy, but they work well holding an image and tracing paper to the board- it is possible to "lock" the on/off and light adjustment / dimmer buttons, which are exquisitely sensitive to touch and easy to inadvertently activate (they should have been placed along the top where the user is less likely to brush up against them) - press the Up and Down dimmer buttons at the same time and hold for 3 seconds - the light will blink and the buttons will be locked - do this again to unlock the buttons- it comes with a very lightweight non-woven bag with a carrying handle - it's nothing I would use for transport, but it can be used as a dust cover- you can power it using the USB adapter or just plug it into a USB power brick - I like the flexibilityI will say that if you are using 300 gsm / 140 lb paper - especially cold pressed paper with significant texture - it can be a bit challenging to see detail even at the highest light intensity. I'm guessing that slightly lighter paper (100 lb) with a smooth surface like hot press might work a bit better. You'll definitely want to experiment a bit.I would also say that if you were planning to throw this in a backpack or book bag, you might want to invest in some type of sleeve or carrying case to keep all of the bits and bobs together and keep the screen from getting scratched up.Recommendations:Preliminarily, I can recommend this without hesitation: If you're looking for an inexpensive, reasonably sturdy and bright light box, this is definitely worth considering.

My niece is going to love this! Works great you just need to get your own block as it is a USB chord. Light settings are strong. Pad feels durable and has a good weight to it. Different light settings.Overall very happy!

The included 2A USB adapter is garbage, causes flickering, BUT....if you know that in advance, and already have access to a USB 3 port on a computer, or phone charger (that puts out 10watts/2A minimum), this is a great value item when priced in the low 20's.The lit area has a bluish tint to my eyes, and at this price you should already expect that the edge lighting causes the edges to be brighter than the center, even to the casual observer, but it's not something you would immediately notice if you were not looking for it.The backside also emits light, but only about 1/4 to 1/3 the brightness of the front. Likewise any light from behind may shine to the front. To be so thin, I could not feel any flex to the frame when trying to twist it. Impressive.Overall I am impressed with what I got for low 20's dineros.Tracing is the last thing I intend to use this for. 1st is a backlight for viewing old film negatives. 2nd is backlight for film when trying to scan them on a flatbed scanner. 3rd is to be a lit floor, upon which to place items for photographing for ebay/facebook marketplace.
