The massive lever on this is the key - it's well made and worth every penny. Stop buying the cheapest option of something, spend more money on the good stuff. This applies to everything, not just a $20 hose piece. As they say "buy once, cry once". This is a great piece and will last a very long time. Big lever for the win.

Bought this because it was heavy duty and all brass. Using it indoors and wanted something that would not fail. The very first time we turned on the water, it blew the ball out of the end of it and then couldn't shut it off. The ball is not brass. Would have been better off buing a $3 plastic shut off then this $18 piece of junk.

These ball valve shut offs are quality made and work even in sub zero temperatures. I use them on the farm all the time to save water and time.

Worth every penny. Besides being constructed of solid brass, my two favorite features are the long handle and the significantly larger opening which allows increased water flow. In comes with a flat washer installed plus 3 extras. However I use only round (tubular) hose washers so I immediately replaced it. (They last much longer.) No leaks and it will outlive me, I'm sure. Great product.

I have a lot of plants to water and the nozzles I use don't have a shutoff. I found this shutoff valve so I thought I would give it a try. Was very surprised at how heavy duty it was when I received it. Solid brass with a quality globe valve (Globe valves don't cause loss of pressure) It doesn't leak and the handle is long enough that it easy to turn on and shut off. Much more convenient than having to go back to the hose bib to turn the water on and off. Well built so should last forever!

It would be better if it had a full 3/4" ball valve but it is better than the standard valves !

I will never go back to plastic connectors. This was a little stiff and leaked at first, but once it got used a few times the lever got easier to move and the water stopped dripping.

These are stout, heavy duty, nicely made units. They are a larger diameter then you'll find at the hardware store, I would assume to accommodate the larger ball valve. Because of their larger size, these things are heavy too. This isn't a criticism, just an observation. The handle is long which makes the valve easy to operate. It will take a couple of seasons to judge how good they really are. Will they start leaking around the ball valves, around the handle stems? Only time will tell, so far I'm impressed and inclined to recommend them.
