These 1 gallon containers compare to 5 gal plastic paint containers only scaled down. I like them better than any other non metal paint container that I have researched. They could be a little more durable however. I worry that the handle may fail causing catastrophic paint spill. Time will tell, so far so good.

I ordered these buckets to store my liquid pottery glazes. The lids are so tight I cannot get them on the buckets. I asked a strong friend to try to fit one on, and while he could do it, it was very difficult. He also had trouble removing it. He said that if it had a liquid in it, there's no way he could remove the lid without spilling the liquid. I am returning this product.Update (12/5/24): The seller responded to my return request, saying that I would have to pay for return shipping, and then they would decide whether to issue a refund. (Shipping charges and a 20% restocking fee would be deducted from my refund, if one was issued.) They stated that I will be unable to find a better fit anywhere else since the lids they sell are the only ones available in the US: " I can guarantee no other lid you will find anywhere as we selling all models available in US ." This is patently untrue, as I did purchase a different 1-gallon bucket on Amazon where I am able to fit the lid on and remove it. They further suggested that I use a rubber mallet to close the buckets and a special lid remover to open them. I had tried a rubber mallet with no success, so I asked them if there was a special technique for closing the buckets with the mallet. I also asked them to identify the lid removal tool that I need to purchase. They have not responded to these questions. I will contact them one more time in the hopes that I'll be able to make these work. In any case, I will not be returning them, since given the seller's poor attitude, I'm uncertain whether they would issue a "refund" in any case, and I do not wish to throw good money after bad. I'll have to try to find a use for lidless buckets.

I bought these plastic paint containers because the typical paint can has a metal lid that will rust over time and contaminate the paint. It's difficult to use white trim paint that has fine flakes of rust in it.The containers are sturdy and the lids are similar to the ones found on 5 gallon plastic paint buckets. The lids contain a rubber gasket to prevent leakage and air infiltration.I highly recommend these containers, especially for paints that you intend to keep indefinitely for future use.

We needed sturdy plastic cans to transfer all of our left over paint in. The metal paint cans were rusty and now our paint storage area looks amazing!
