Used to get big particulate out of batches of mead prior to clarifying. Worked for the job and cleaned up well afterwards

We use this to render our harvest fruits and vegetables to make cider, juices and stocks. It isn’t the easiest to clean but no strainer is! Great quality!

Cleaning shouldn’t count against them pellets breaks down to a mush and since I clean 300-400 all the time in the industry they suck cleaning in general. But it works and does the job. I brew with a g30 and doing 5 gallon batches it barely reaches the wort so with the arms you lose room to stir. Tried the dry hop capsule betterish….buy or make sure it comes with a chain or it’ll try to run away.

I have a 16 gallon brew pot that I use for 10 gallon batches. I put 10 ounces of hops in it and some sweet orange peels, worked like a charm. Didn’t overflow because the top is near the top of the pot. Could also work on smaller batches because of how deep it is. This is a must have for large hop additions! Two anchor points at the top also makes a huge difference. The ones that only have one slide all around and can tip sending your hops back into the wort during boil. The screen is perfect for not allowing any hops through. It will clog slightly and will hold wort when transferring to you fermentor. I just lightly scrapped the inside with a stainless steel spoon and it flowed out. I have been brewing for years and would highly recommend.

I use this product in beer making. I put my Hops and other items in it that I don't want to mix into the wort. Because of its fine size it doesn't allow a lot of the particles out but it does allow the flavor to mix with your wort. Easy to clean, easy to use , very well built and sturdy. Hangs on the side of your brew pot.

This device is a brewers dream. I can keep any mash at precise temperatures for extended periods of time and keep the sous vide device clean of grain particles. If you brew beer, you know exactly what I mean. When you hop, you can reverse the setup and keep the hops in the device instead of the wort-at-large keeping things cleaner when transferring to fermentation. I haven't tasted the results with this device yet (takes 2-4 months) but I've brewed 100+ batches and already in love with this thing.

This hop spider is awesome so far. I used it twice the day after I got it. If you are still using the nylon bags I would recommend this as and upgrade. It is way easier to use, add hops to and clean. This worked great allowing the hops pellets to float around and stay in contact with the boiling wort. I only used 2-3 oz of pellet hops but this could hold MUCH more than that. This was very easy to clean after the brew day, I rinsed in off in hot water but not everything came off. I let in soak for about 5-10 minutes in my PBW solution and everything came off and clean very easy. The welds are very smooth and clean. The 2 support brackets are very sturdy and do not get too hot during the boil.NOTE:There are a few sharp wires inside where the seam is in the wire so be careful.

Constructed well but not ideal for boil kettles smaller than 15 gallon and batches smaller than 10 gallons in a 15 gallon kettle. In smaller kettles it has to sit on the bottom to keep hops in the wort. In larger kettles with smaller volume, you may not get full hop utilization. With huge hop bills skip the whirflock or irish moss. It clogs the screen and you end up with a full hop spider that won't drain. Lost almost a gallon of beer because of this. If you are mindful of the short comings, it is excellent otherwise.
