I was hoping to get away from a full-size gas-powered edger, but this doesn't really do it. It needs more power than the Honda engine can supply, so it is always close to bogging down. I do often clean out the dirt and grass buildup in the shroud, but can't say that this is really satisfying. I first had just the string trimmer attachment, which does a good, heavy-duty job as a weed eater. But this is nowhere near what you need if you have any amount of edging to do. I'm keeping it because it was expensive, but can't recommend it to anyone else. Once it breaks, I will be moving on to a real edger. I just hope it doesn't kill my power head in the mean time.

Item arrived earlier than anticipated & it works as advertised. Takes some getting used to as far as adjusting the depth but that is expected.

I purchased this edger attachment for my Honda Power Head UMC435A four months ago. The edger has done a fine job of cutting a clean line, it tracks well, and is easy to use; however, while using it the other day, it apparently struck a rock and blew a hole through the plastic deflector housing. This happened after using it about 8 times. I took it to the local authorized Honda Repair center and found out that this damage is not covered by warranty. The repair center said a replacement deflector will cost $112.00, not including labor.Perhaps this is an unusual occurrence, I do not know, but Honda's response to my concerns was, "Thank you for your inquiry and we regret to read that your deflector housing has broken. The Debris Shield is in compliance with ANSI standards and is in compliance with all industry and occupational standards. I have included the verbiage from the owners manual that emphasizes the importance of checking the condition prior to use.It is important to check the unit before each and inspect the shield for excessive wear and damage, or looseness before each use. If the shield is damaged, it must be replaced."I looked at the housing prior to using it and did not see any damage. Honda refused to publish my review on their website.

I have a 4 stroke Honda trimmer which I love and need an edger so bought this attachment for trimming and edging a small vineyard. I found this edger to be hard on my back as I have to bend over too far to accurately control the edging process. I spent about $160 on this which is a waste and found a real 4 wheel edger for $100 buck which works great. As far as I can tell there is no way to extend the length of this edger attachment so for me it was a waste of money. I love the 4 stroke Honda trimmer but this edger attachment is not a good purchase. Might work for a shorter person as I am 5'11"

I have the 35CC motor and started with the straight shaft string trimmer. Last year I added the leaf blower. This year, I complete my attachment collection (at least what I think I need for my yard) with the curb edger. First, it's not straight as advertised, it's curved for sure. You can even see it in the picture. So, if this matters to you beware. It doesn't to me as the thing works well. I can edge now at part throttle and get that crisp edge a good yard deserves. The guide wheel is a little floppy but doesn't seem to hamper keeping the blade in the groove. I just love this system and the quality from Honda leads me to believe these tools will be reliable for years to come.
