This Cordless Lawn Edger is a great 2-in-1 tool for keeping lawns and sidewalks looking sharp. Compatible with Makita 18V batteries, it offers the convenience of cordless operation while delivering a clean, precise edge along sidewalks, driveways, and garden beds. The adjustable depth settings and lightweight design make it easy to handle, even for those who aren’t landscaping pros.A practical example of its effectiveness was during a backyard makeover where it was used to create neat edges along a flower bed. The trenching function came in handy for laying out a drip irrigation system, making it a versatile tool beyond just edging grass. The battery-powered operation meant no dealing with tangled cords or messy gas refills, making the job quicker and less of a hassle.While the tool performs well, it would benefit from a more powerful motor, especially for thicker or overgrown grass. this cordless edger by Mayoki (China) is a surprising good product for the cost. Very easy to assemble (even though the instructions were lacking), I found this edge to be quite effective at cutting the grass along my driveway and front door approach path. Although it didn't come with its own battery(s), it is compatible with the Makita/Makita clones, of which I have several of each. I was easily able to edge both sided of my driveway with a single charge of my Makita clone battery - that is about 200 lineal feet plus another 100 feet or so of pathway. The edger is lightweight and easy to adjust to the best height. It is also easy to disassemble and clean. Disassembled it is much easier to store than my other, similar tools! All-in-all a very good value. I would have given this Mayoki edger 5 stars but I haven't had it long enough to assess its performance over time.
