Bought this item last year in July. It is almost impossible to get the blade off!! No way this item was torqued correctly. There are three screws holding the belt cover on your lucky if one of them stays in their stripped out or they just fall out because of vibration poorly made. 11 months now and I can’t even get it to start the hand crank is locked, very disappointing. Don’t waste your money.

for the price, no I would not purchase this again, the edger blade came loose when first used , the blade can strike the sidewalk on the highest setting. tilting the unit back resulted in fuel leaking from somewhere. the wheel adjuster is in a very awkward position. The blade assembly is prone to twist in and out during use. The disconnected fuel line at the carb was a big issue had i not seen it prior to fueling.

I assembled it put oil and fuel in it and pulled and pulled and pulled. Unit will not start Amazon claims it is non returnable. Total disappointment. Buyer beware!!!!!!!

The unit is a great bang for the buck, it really did a great job on my long driveway that had large amount of grass grown over the cement. Tried doing it with a hand tool and edger attachment blade and took forever to do a small section. Once I used the Generac edger I was cleaning it up fast.Quality: 5 StarsSpeed: 5 StarsShipping: 1 Star.The Generac device is great, however the packaging is not. It arrived with the rear left wheel bent into the frame. Additionally the cutter on the unit was damaged and pushed at an angle away from the frame (not straight). This wasn't a misalignment from 0 degree / 15 degree setting, it was just bent out. again damaged in shipment. Glad I am handy, I was able to bend the frame back with a 3 lb sledge and a small wooden block to get the wheel back into alignment. also had to fix the metal mounting arm for the cutting blade.I am giving 4 star due to the shipping damage, otherwise i would have giving a 5.

Important Note: THERE IS NO OIL IN THIS MACHINE. Don’t assume that the dribble or 2 on the engine dip stick is indicative that there is oil in the machine coming out of the shipping box.I’ll try to keep this brief. I haven’t seen many reviews on this edger. So I’ll help someone decide. I needed a strong, sturdy edger for my home needs. This machine has more than one useful feature built in. When I received the machine, it was heavy. That later translated that it was a solidly built machine. It was very well packed for rough haul shipping and zero defects to the machine when I unpacked it. HOWEVER, I would strongly urge the people that are packaging these edgers to pay closer or more attention to the plastic ignition kill switch connectors. When I was assembling my machine, I discovered that the plastic connectors were somehow crushed under the the machine itself. I found the broken plastic connector bits in the bottom of the box. I used a couple of shrink wrap connectors for the repair and made it work just fine. When I completed the assembly and engine prep work (oil & gas fill up) I followed the book on starting procedures. On the first rip in the engine pull cord, it was a no hesitation start-up and the engine runs quietly. It’s been that way ever since. The edging performance and appearance is unmatched. It’s easy to navigate and with the off-level feature, it’s easy to edge along street curbs. It looks AWESOME! I highly recommend this machine.
