The stock pot (11 litre) came in a well packaged thick cardboard box for protection. The pot looked and felt high quality out of the box, it is very sturdy! The polished finish is excellent, The bottom of the pot is very thick, unlike some others that are quite thin. I used this pot to make a stew, the stew remained hot for a long time after turning the cooker off. Food did not get burned at the bottom of the pot because of the thick bottom - with a thinner bottom pot, this happened often with me. The glass lid is very good and is very strong and well made. The pot came with a ladle and this is also well made! Guaranteed for 6 years as well - I think that it will last for a lot longer than that, as the construction, look and feel of the pot is outstanding. I am glad I bought this, I would recommend this and I am going to buy another one of a slightly smaller size.Cleaning the pot is so easy, no need to scrub the pot hard, I just used a light sponge and then only the smooth side, absolutely fantastic! Finally, I am not exaggerating when I say that this is an item of the very highest quality.

I originally wanted a Vollrath 3109 Centurion, 38-quart, 10-gauge stainless steel stockpot, made in Italy, but I didn't have $653 plus the lid cost to shell out, especially after our previous stockpot of nearly 10 years got dented and the base almost detached from the body. Searching for a quality alternative, I found this Homichef brand on Amazon. I purchased the 24-quart version in August, and I must say, it has been a solid investment. I've cooked in it at least 20 times already—primarily soups and stews—and it still looks as pristine as the day it arrived. This pot is crafted from nickel-free stainless steel, which is not only healthier but also highly durable. The pot’s heavy-duty construction, with a 7mm base, gives it stability and even heat distribution, which is beneficial when cooking large batches. Compared to my old stockpot, the Homichef feels far sturdier and more resilient, holding up exceptionally well after multiple uses. The mirror-polished exterior and matte interior finish make cleaning a breeze. Even after simmering hearty stews, I found that residue wiped away with minimal effort, preserving its shiny look. It’s refreshing to use a pot that doesn’t stain or retain food odors much, making it feel new with each use. This stockpot’s compatibility with various stovetops—gas, induction, electric, and ceramic—is a standout feature. Whether I’m using it on my gas stove or transferring it to a friend’s induction cooktop, it performs consistently well. The ergonomic handles remain cool, making it safer to handle, even when cooking at high heat. The 24-quart capacity is fantastic for cooking in bulk, but it does make storage a bit tricky. If you have limited kitchen space, finding a suitable spot might be a challenge, especially considering its height. However, if you frequently cook for large groups or prepare stock, the size is ideal. While the handles on the pot itself stay cool, the lid handle tends to heat up, which can be inconvenient during longer cooking sessions. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I’d recommend using a pot holder when lifting the lid to avoid burns.Overall, this 24-quart stockpot is an impressive piece for the price. While I still admire the Vollrath's reputation, the Homichef proves that high-quality cookware doesn't always come with a high price tag. This is a durable, well-designed stockpot that meets all my cooking needs, and I’m thoroughly pleased with this find. Let's see if this will last up to 10 years like my old 20-quart stockpot.

I already owned 2 Homi Chef pots before getting this one. The 8 qt stock pot and the copper banded 2 1/2 quart stockpot. I gave them both 5 star reviews because I really think they are superb. I also have their knife which is very good value as well. This pot is 16 quarts and REALLY big! I already had the 8 quart Stock Pot. I noticed immediately that the 8 quart is heavier and thicker and I was worried that this one wouldn't cook as well, but I get why they'd want it to be lighter - It would be extremely difficult to maneuver if it was made as heavily as the 8 quart. But make no mistake it's quite sturdy and very well made.I decided to make chicken soup with a friend and we'd split it since it was going to make a LOT!The first photo I posted shows all the ingredients laid out on the stove - chicken, celery, carrots, mushrooms, dill, yellow squash, zuccini, sweet onion, scallions, a small amount of dill pickles, salt, pepper, chicken stock, bone broth, and angel hair pasta with a fresh baguette. The second photo shows most of the veggies diced and sauteed right in the pot. After adding the broth and seasoning, bringing to a boil, which took no longer than I'd have expected even given that the pot is meant to be cooked in at medium heat, it was time to add the chicken and the remaining vegetables and dill followed by the angel hair pasta broken in to 1 1/2" pieces. The whole meal was cooked in about 40 minutes. We sat down for a big bowl of that delicious soup, a hunk of the baguette and some wine (photo 3). My friend never stopped making yummy noises and I agreed with her. It was fabulous soup. After our meal I transferred the remaining soup to containers for freezing. A LOT of containers. My friend took 3 quarts home and I gave another quart to another friend and have a lot left for me to enjoy over the next couple of weeks!. Clean up was a bit challenging. NOT because of the pot material but because of the size of the beautiful pot. It's tall and I live in an apartment with a regular kitchen sink so I had to lay it on it's side and use the removable spray to spray out the bulk of what was left in the pan. Once I got the solids out I was able to set the pot in the sink, add a few drops of liquid soap and use a soft nylon covered sponge to clean it thoroughly. I rinsed it, dried it and it looked brand new. Nothing stuck to it.To be honest I don't see myself needing this pot a lot as it's overkill if you're not making a big batch of something or canning maybe. I DO however think I would use the pot for making long spaghetti because it's tall and would accommodate the raw tall spaghetti without having to break it. Also it would keep the spaghetti moving around in the boiling water with all that room. If I cook my mom's meatball and sauce recipe I will definitely use THIS pan for the sauce.Overall the pot performed perfectly for this chicken soup recipe and the result is raves from the two cooks and from the other friend I gave a quart too. Like me, he'd not had chicken soup with dill and we both thought the dill made the dish.If you need a large stock pot you cannot go wrong with this one or anything in the Homi Chef line if the four items I already had, you won't be disappointed. Throw in the best customer service I've ever experienced from any company ever and the combination is unbeatable. Now it's time for another bowl of soup.

I finally got to put my new 16Qt Homichef stock pot to the test and I absolutely love it! I followed the instructions for seasoning it (which were very easy) and then I made some chilli. The pot heats up quickly (even with the stove on the lowest heat) and the heat appeared to be evenly disbursed throughout the pot. This pot is huge and really holds a LOT of food/liquid. I really liked that the handles to the pot and the lid stayed fairly cool to the touch. Of course, I still used a light silicon glove but probably could have done without that. The pot is made very well - extremely sturdy and I love that the lid has an air vent because that keeps the lid from completely fogging up and it keeps the condensation down so when I lift the lid there is not as much liquid coming off the lid. Did I mention how BEAUTIFUL this stock pot is? It is like a piece of art. The inside is a gorgeous stainless steel and the outside has a really pretty mirror finish. What I love MOST though is that it is very high quality stainless steel WITHOUT the toxic nickel (which is so hard to find) and yet it is extremely affordable. I did a TON of research before I bought this and this is the best product like this on the market for the price - hands down! My biggest fear was that everything would stick to it but I found that it was really easy to use and clean. I guess the seasoning did the trick because my chilli did not stick at all and it was a breeze to clean. It does say it is best to use low/med heat and not high heat but I found you don’t need anything higher than low to medium anyway because the pot really conducts heat very well. I love this stock pot and will definitely be ordering more from Homichef! 😊
