Actual installation time was about two hours on a 2004 Ford F150 XL 4x4 V6 regular cab short bed. By the way this truck had already had a lowering kit installed which reduced ride height by about 4 to 5 inches. Needed to supplement rear load carrying capability to tow a camper with a GVWR of around 3000 lbs. This kit easily achieved that, but the surprising thing is that it improved the unloaded handling and ride of the truck dramatically. Anyone who knows the 1997 to 2004 (Heritiage) F150s have a nice stock ride but have the annoying rear axle oscillation over road irregularites (axle bounces up and down about 3 to 4 times after hitting a bump).. this kit eliminated 90% of that and also quite remarkably reduces body roll in turns and overall handling. Instructions are clear. Couldn't recommend this kit more.

My truck had no overload springs, so this was the perfect addition to compensate for the sagging and a little help when I pull my 18 foot bumper pull trailer. Much better ride, and no longer bone jarring.

The springs are good quality but the square clamps and nuts it comes with are junk the quality just isn't there the thread pitch on the nuts are just a hair off and it makes it difficult to install and the kit was missing a nut for the clamps had to go to the local hardware store and but nylon lock nuts to complete the job

It would have taken 10 minutes to install but they sent the wrong size nuts with the u-bolts. Unfortunately I didn’t check to make sure everything was right. So I had to put the truck back together, drive to town, $2 in nuts and 45 minutes lost. Other than that, the helper kit works great and as it should. I’m no long hitting bump stops when loading 10 bags of deer corn in my 2001 tundra

Removing the four U bolts was brutally tough. Air tools would rove nuts. The addition of the helper Springdale a huge didderence in ride while towing my 27 ' trailer. I would recommend these as a build up.

Works great. Helps the leaf springs on my 300k Toyota Tundra. Stabilized the age worn spring without having to replace the whole thing. When truck is not loaded, there is not much pressure on the helper spring. Have it tightened all the way on shackle. Kicks in best when towing my camper. Big noticeable difference. Much Cheaper that an airbag system. Easy to install.

Installed on a 2006 Tundra SR5 Doublecab V8 4WD TRD. This product fixed the loaded bed drop problem and also made body roll virtually disappear. It's not so stiff to make the unloaded ride uncomfortable, but it eliminates the huge sway around curves or bumps. When I put ~2000lbs of 12' lumber in the bed of the truck, the gate dropped almost 8" from 34" height unloaded down to 26 1/4" loaded. I figured that I needed to take care of the drop, and if this solved the sway problem then great--if not, I'd install the too . Once installed, the unloaded tailgate height only increased 1/2" and the ride both loaded and unloaded was tremendously better (I haven't put 2000lbs of lumber to quantify the change, but you can tell a huge difference in drop/bounce just by pushing or sitting on the gate). Product was easy to install--just make sure the new helper spring u-bolts line up with the existing leaf spring rebound clamps on both sides. At this time, I'll save the $250 and not buy a sway bar.

I installed these on an 03 Tundra. Lifted the rear of the truck about 1 1/2 inches. Improved body roll and handling noticeably well. I cannot comment a lot, on how much more the truck can carry, however, it is definitely a noticeable improvement as well.Only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars, is the hardware that comes with these are very cheap low grade. The springs themselves, are excellent quality, and putting cheap hardware with them does not make sense. A couple of tips- If your truck is older, The u bolts are most likely going to have to be replaced. I got mine at the local spring works, and they are quality grade 8 steel. Having a good impactwrench is nice makes the job easier. Also having a torque wrench is good. My tundra called for 80 foot pounds of torque. Overall, they are quite easy to install, and I am happy with them.Update note- Loaded 1/2 cord of hardwood on my Tundra today-These helper springs really did a great job with their extra support for the load, and also with driving...Again, happy with them.

Product came on time , easy install if you have good set of tools and jack and stands , Not impressed with there choice of lock-nuts on U bolts they need to be nylock type to prevent them from backing off . I had one U-bolt loose all the nuts and almost lost it on road but caught it just in time, I will replace all lock nuts with the nylock type very soon. Otherwise a great product they kept my F-150 from sagging when I pulled a skid-steer loader on my trailer and gave me a stable ride ,no swaying or pushing from the trailer and 6000lbs. I was pulling.
