Installed yesterday May 15th 2024 and test driven only 20 miles. All fasteners and parts were included.Paperwork and instructions included, although limited in directions such as adjustments, direction of spring installation....The 981 Tacoma 2nd Gen leafs include a mounting U-bolt that is installed next to the fuel tank that could use a trip back to the drawing board IMHO. The instructions did give brief installation instruction, yet they are limited. Creative use of C-clamps did come into play in order to get a proper "looking" installation of this sideways U-bolt, although it's questionable. The passenger side front U-bolt will likely have to be adjusted to equal the span between the added Hellwig leaf and existing top leaf in the spring pack. The brief test drive was very affirming and stable, with very limited body roll while driving through corners. New rear shocks were installed just days earlier and new coils and struts installed just the day before in preparation for new tires, better than new pickup suspension IMHO.Update: Just a few days ago, I went up to a fire lookout on a familiar dirt road and wasn't taking it easy. The rear end of my pickup came off the ground over a whoop and the shakles came loose from the Hellwigs sliding inward towards the axle. No harm done and the rattling noise identified something wasn't right. 15 minutes work under the pickup with a ratchet, combination wrench and a C-clamp replaced the U-bolts with a little tighter adjustment to the nuts. The loose U-bolts made it feel like my tires were low on pressure so I definitely feel more stability with these added leaf springs. Moral of this story, tighten them up a bit especially if your stock leaf springs were getting tired.

I built a light camper on my Tacoma and the factory springs sagged. I hated that look! These went on easily, and leveled out my truck. I can’t say that I noticed much difference in the handling.

Made a HUGE difference in the handling of our 2008 Tacoma. Can pull a 8000lb trailer now with ease... The engine is the only thing lacking now on the interstate going up a hill. I highly recommend. Easy to install. Excellent instructions. Everything fit like it should.

I put these on my 2012 double cab 4 wheel drive Tacoma. The factory springs actually had a negative arch after installing a Leer camper top. I had the Helwigs installed along with Bilstein 5100s. The front Bilsteins were adjustable so we adjusted them for a 2 inch lift. The Helwigs plus a 1 inch block gave the rear about a 3 inch lift. Everything worked out to where the truck has just a slight rake. I now have the ability to handle a load without too much sag. I'm very happy with the Helwigs. Much better than a leveling kit.Combined with the Bilsteins I was able to maintain the off road performance.

The reason for getting these helpers what because my 07 Tacoma PreRunner Quad Cab kept bottoming out on speed bumps with light loads. This is a common issue with the early model 2nd Gen Taco's. One time in particular I had 4 young people (3 in the cab and 2 in the bed) and every time I went over a speed bump the bed would bottom out. Being that my Tacoma was out of warranty I knew Toyota wasn't going to fix the issue. So I started doing some research and found these Hellwig Helper Springs. Install took me a few hours and was done by myself at night...yeah I'm a bit impatient. Now for the results, this truck now handles the same and heavier loads w/o bottoming out now. She (yeah that's right "she") now handles like a dream. The ride seems smoother and more refined. When I get on the gas I notice the wheels gripping better and there is much less body roll when cornering. I highly recommend these springs...YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Easy to install on my 2011 Tacoma and has been for about 4 months. I loaded about 300 pounds of camping gear, tools, and food, and random crap in the bed of my truck and found that the hellwig spring reduced sag a lot! Also, it tightens up my rear end a fair amount, which I like.Almost perfect! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of the U-bolts is required to be installed sideways. The bolt rubs on my driver side brake line causing chaffing. I solved this by wrapping some electrical tape around the line where the rubbing occurred. The diagram that came with the instructions shows that the line is to run above the spring U-Bolt, but this is not the case. Otherwise it is a solid product.Update 16 June 13: Still a great product. I ended up turning the u-bolt sideways because the nut rubbing on the brake lane made me feel a bit uneasy. No more problems.
