I own a CNC machine shop. This item allows us to use our height gauge to easily measure the depth of features. Other probes available in the USA are extremely expensive compared to this. This is so inexpensive that I'm ordering a second one so I can try to bend one of the arms. This will allow us to measure internal grooves with it. Our other option is to use a height gauge disc that costs $350.88. This is a simple solution if it works and not much to loose if it doesn't.

The .036 ball is very fragile and broke off the second time I used it.
