Like many of you, I am sure, I have a tendency to allow "cool!" to overcome my fiscal common sense when it comes to tools. I had resisted getting one of these during JessEm's first cut at this, but this tool is a game changer for setting up my Tablesaw, router and bandsaw.Here is my problem. I have middle aged eyes and a lower back that, despite it's 55 years in operation, is in the condition of an 80 year old model. For my table saw, for instance, I am accustomed to leaning over with a steel rule and setting my blade height by eye using a 32nd inch gradated scale. Which, given the aforementioned issues, is not nearly as accurate as it once was.This gadget has only 1/16th granularity of accuracy, but if I am honest, that is really all I need. I have enough experience with my tools to be able to squeak out any finer granularity by feel and test cuts. And if I am extra honest. If accuracy is THAT critical, I am getting close on the power tool and finishing at the shooting board or some other hand tool.The tool is extremely well made, is easy to set up and use, and helps the eyes and the back in the shop.
