Product Description

FNATR #81 HEAT SET INSERT PRESS 3D PRINTING TOOL

a1

Pre-assembled Key Parts

To save your time and make it easy to install, the key parts of the FNATR heat insert press are pre-assembled and you will just need to put four parts together.

a2

Anodized Aluminum Base

With no compromise in quality, FNATR heat insert press uses anodized aluminum base. It has a smoother surface and it is much lighter and more durable.

a3

Larger Actual Working Space

With a 226x168mm base, the actual working space of FNATR heat insert press is larger, giving you more flexibility on placing the 3D prints.

a4

High Quality Soldering Iron

The electric soldering iron of FNATR heat insert press has a temperature range from 180℃/356℉ to 500℃/932℉. It heats fast and can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Easy to Install

install-1

Step One

Install the vertical bar to the base and a thumb nut to the lower part of the vertical bar.

install-2

Step Two

Install the horizontal bar to the vertical bar and then install a thumb nut on the upper part of the vertical bar.

install-3

Step Three

Install the soldering iron (with the carriage) and end caps and then place the silicone pad onto the base.

Easy to Use

use-1

Step One

Use the tweezers to install the needed heat-set insert tip to the soldering iron.

use-2

Step Two

Adjust the height of the thumb nuts until the iron tip has proper distance away from the 3D printed part.

use-3

Step Three

Heat up the soldering iron and press it down to install the inserts. (Be careful of the hot tip.)

Important Notes For Using

To make it easiest to use, it is very important to design recesses for nuts when modeling so that you do not need to hold them with tweezers.

The insert tip cannot hold the nut too tight, or the tip could pull it out after installation, but there could be another problem:

If you cannot modify the model, and the model cannot lay flat on its own, and it happens to have no recesses in design, you may find it difficult to press the soldering iron down because you need to hold the model and the nuts at the same time.

In this case, the only way is find something to fix the model.

1

Recess For Nuts

When modeling, it is important to design recesses for nuts, which will make installation much easier. For your convenience, you can refer to the suggested hole diameters for inserts in our instructions.

2-1

Press Without Holding The Nut

You can put the nuts in the recesses first and then use the soldering iron to press them down. In this way you will not need to hold the nuts when installing them.

3-1

Space For Brass Tip

If the nuts you want to install are shorter than the insert tip, you need to reserve some space to allow the tip to go deeper.

Not much to say, it does what it says it can do. Seems like decent quality. Reccomend for any 3d printer owner.

It fits the basic need of heating up an insert and allowing you to push it straight down into the part. Price is good and due to it it is a 4 star review. It could be better executed for ease of use and repeatability.

This press is used for heating brass inserts for a 3D printed part so you can use screws to assemble parts, like making your own enclosures for hard disks or Raspberry Pi, or whatever your mind can think of.I was having issues with hand pressing parts straight, and then I got this. It's perfect for pressing inserts at the right angle and has a nice sticky pad to keep your part still while doing it. It helps to bring your inserts straight down and stay straight, giving you that "extra hand" you never thought you needed, and the stability. It's extremely easy to assemble, and only takes a few minutes. The instructions are clear, and the videos located here on this page even helps you with a visual. The only complaint I have is the nuts used to hold the insert tips are super small and hard for us with larger fingers to fit on the tiny allen wrench. It would have been nice that they were pre-screwed into the inserts.

I purchased this to assist in assembly of a product that I’m selling. I’m so glad I did. It makes assembly much more efficient and easy. Definitely a good purchase.

I think it's a good idea. Honestly though, if you have a part that will not lay flat on its own, you need to be an octopus to operate the machine.1. Gravity means you need to hold the insert with tweezers in the heat element.2. While that is warming up, you need to hold the part that won't stay in position without aid.3. With your third hand you then push the heat arm down and into the plastic while letting go of the tweezers as the insert begins to melt into the plastic.I'm gonna keep it and add a pneumatic cylinder with a foot pedal in order to make this do what I need it to do.
