It has been protecting my linoleum from burns with no marks. Easily swept/cleaned.

Not a rug even tho title says that. I returned it. Was more like a canvas tarp.Would not have looked good in front of my fireplace

Love this rug! Vacuums easily and small cinders don't catch fire or continue to burn on it. Wish I had bought one years ago!

This is functional for a working wood fireplace. It prevents popping ash from ruining the hard wood and carpet, and also collects wood debris from getting in my carpet. It's not particularly beautiful, but since it's a deep black color, it doesn't look bad. Initially, I only put it down when we had a fire in the fireplace, but lately, I've taken to tucking it under the carpet and pulling it out as needed. It's durable and doesn't seem to get too dirty. I shake it out of debris afterwards and it's good to go. Good purchase and I'd buy it again.

This thing is giant....too big, but the issue is the material. It seems like silicon coated rubber, but very thin. It has a shine that makes it look like a wrinkled black garbage bag. Not something that will add to the charm of your fireplace. It may function well, but is too ugly to have it long enough to find out.

I've lived with a woodstove for 35 years and have never opened the door, reached for a log to put inside and have a log jump out of the stove. It was flaming! Thankfully I had this rug. Our new wood floors are only 4 months old and I knew there would be a burn mark under that run.I got the burning log back into the fire and not fast because I had to get the tongs. When I lifted the rug to look at the floor it was 100% perfect. Highly recommend getting this for safety.

It does the job. Embers out of the fireplace dissolve immediately. However, this is not a fireproof rug. It’s more like thin plastic to protect your floor in front of your fireplace.

I wasn't sure from the ad whether this would look rubbery or like some sort of fire resistant fabric. I wanted a fabric look, but it looks rubbery. Still, it's as stylish and expensive looking as rubbery materials can look, so I'm not mad at it. It's thick and well-made.I bought it because of the larger size. I needed it to cover the large, cheap-looking painted hearth in my apartment from being scratched. It covers and protects the hearth well. I haven't actually used it while I had a fire going, and I probably won't. My hearth is fire resistant; I mainly wanted this rug to cover the hearth when the fireplace is NOT in use.
