My new HP laptop doesn't have a VGA port and the very expensive monitor I have doesn't support HDMI. This little dongle saved the day. Works absolutely perfectly.

Just received this adapter and it does indeed work on my M1 Mac Mini, converts the HDMI signal to VGA for an older monitor. It does, however, require power, which is not clear in the description. I used an old phone charger, connected it to the unit via micro USB and connected instantly. To be clear, the charger and cable are not included. This is all you need to use the HDMI output with a VGA monitor. 5 Stars

I found the descriptions and some of the questions and reviews confusing. The listing referred to it as both an HDMI to VGA and VGA to HDMI. Such adapters are not bi-directional. What I needed was HDMI to VGA and that is what I got! It is a nice size and works perfectly.My closet has held an Xfinity Flex device hostage for a year because I have not owned a television since 1995. I finally decided to use my old computer monitor to work with it. The Flex device has HDMI output and my monitor has either VGA or DVI-D input. This adapter is delivering 1080p high resolution which is fine on a 22" monitor. The sound is only as good as what you play it through. My cheap soundbar works fine for my needs. Sound and images are synced nicely.

I'm using this adapter to connect my laptop to an external monitor through the HDMI port on the laptop. The adapter works perfectly. I also verified that the audio port works as intended and it does after selecting it as an audio output (it had the monitor's name). Great product and I would purchase again.

My daughter needed a monitor to help her see her small chrome book screen while remote learning. We had one we were using and needed the adapter to hook to the chrome book! Adapter came pretty quickly and worked well!
