This a a handy little adapter. Note: This is a one way adapter - source must be HDMI and monitor DisplayPort. If the PC has a display port connection and you are trying to use an HDMI monitor, you need a different unit - this one will not work.Overall, this is a compact adapter that will work as intended. I have two of them, so I can recommend this item.

Back in the office w/o assigned seating so never know if I can connect to the monitor. For me, this is great and lets me use the big monitors while working.

I've been using it for one day, so I cannot speak to MTBF.The device (I bought the shortest one) is small and well built and not wobbly in the port.I did not try to run it without the USB power plugged in. The cord is about 20" long and plugs in to the right side of the adapter, the way it is oriented for me, with the cutout corner of the DP cable in the lower left of the female port. If the port has stuff plugged in close to that side, and the USB power cable is necessary, that could be an issue. The photos on this page currently do not show the power cable for this shortest version.I am using an Asus Rog Taichi x670e Carrera MB with a Ryzen 9 7050x CPU.This worked with the integrated graphics driver which only has an hdmi port.NOTE: This did not work with CSM (legacy BIOS support for UEFI systems) turned on. This means IMO that it is sensitive to BIOS/UEFI settings, and may explain why it doesn't work for everyone.I only have used it with 30hz 2560x1440 8bit color. It has a tiny LED light that shows diagnostic colors, although I have not looked for documentation on what they mean, it could come in handy. Right now it is flashing red then green, and it appears to be working fine. It's a very handy and fairly priced solution to the problem of needing to turn a female hdmi port into a female DisplayPort port, although I did not check the highest resolutions and I had to adjust BIOS/UEFI settings to get it to work. I've only been using it one day and it is a temporary solution so I won't be able to report on its longevity.People have reported problems when used with a KVM, switch or other indirect connection. The instructions say only to use a direct connection. This may also account for some negative reviews. Also, it is important to notice that this only works to convert HDMI output to DiplayPort input signals. It won't work the other way. There are adapters I found that can be used in both directions. This accounts for some more of the negative reviews. It is cheaper and more convenient than various alternatives solutions I found.

One of those times I'm glad I went into a brick and mortar to get some help in buying an adapter to connect my PS5 to a monitor that only had a DisplayPort available. While there's plenty of adapters that go from DisplayPort to HDMI, those are NOT what are needed for a PS5. Thankfully the sales person I talked to at Micro Center in Dallas was able to steer me in the right direction. Unfortunately they didn't have any HDMI to DisplayPort adapters. Found this one on Amazon, though, and it works perfectly for my PS5. I didn't have to make any adjustments to settings on the PS5; it looks absolutely perfect!

Bought This for my ps5 since my monitor didn’t support 120hz on the display. Flash forward to when it gets here I’m super happy and pumped. Do everything it asks of me. And guess what. IT WONT DO ANYTHING. ITS A PEICE OF JUNK. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU BUY THIS. Garbage. Waste of twenty bucks….

I recently bought this HDMI to DisplayPort adapter, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. My goal was to connect my laptop with an HDMI output to my DisplayPort monitor, and this adapter worked perfectly for that purpose. Setup was incredibly simple—just plug and play. It was instantly recognized by my laptop, with no drivers or software needed. The image quality is excellent, even at high resolutions. I'm running it at 1080p with a very crisp, clear picture, and I haven’t noticed any lag or flickering, even when streaming video or playing games. It's obvious that this adapter maintains high signal integrity, which is something I was initially concerned about.Build quality is also impressive. The cable feels durable, and the connectors are solid, with a snug fit that makes it feel secure. I’ve had no issues with the connection loosening or losing signal. For anyone looking to connect an HDMI device to a DisplayPort monitor, this adapter is a fantastic solution. I highly recommend it for both work and entertainment setups.

I have a large 1440p 60Hz monitor that I use along with a laptop at work for extra screen real estate. It has HDMI and Displayport inputs. My laptop only had HDMI, so that is the connection I've used. However, the HDMI port on the monitor had loosened to the point of the cable not holding the connection reliably. I picked up this adapter in hopes that I could make use of the Displayport connect instead and keep on working. At a basic level it works - I can get a signal from the laptop to the monitor. With a claimed 4K 60Hz capacity, it should have easily been able to give me a 2560x1440p 60Hz connection. However, it cannot. The max resolution it will offer through the adapter is 2048x1152p, and no amount of fiddling with display settings and drivers will improve that. Given that this claims to be able to do 4K at 60Hz, its actual bandwidth is only about 1/4 of what it claims. Having the USB cable plugged in for power doesn't appear to make a difference either way.For now, it's useable until I can replace the monitor, but I wouldn't waste my money on one of these again.

For my case before i had a nintendo switch that i was unable to connect to a dell monitor that only had displayport/vga. Was able to plug the USB directly into the dock of the switch and it worked perfectly. (of course for this setup you need an extra display-port cable)
