When I first plugged it into my XSX it worked perfectly albeit with the sound issues some people have complained about. The next time I tried it with my computer to no avail, which left me scrambling to test my monitor with other usb c devices which also didn't work. I tested different methods and here is what I found in order to get it to consistently work.1.Make sure you have at least 1-2 Usb C cables to test with (High speed cables that are thicker) and you should test these cables with a usb c device to make sure they transmit video.2.Plug the hdmi part into your console, pc, or other hdmi output device first.3.Next plug in the 5v power supply to the dongle. For me it consistently worked when usb power is plugged into a standalone power cube (if possible) but you can try plugging it into your device as well.4. Wait about 30-45 seconds for the microcontroller in the dongle to boot up and prepare for connection.5.Finally plug in your USB C cable that is connected to your monitor and viola it works 4k @ 60hz.If you follow these steps correctly then it should work for you as well.Other notes:I don't have any issues with my monitor sleeping and staying connected when woken up.I do however have to redo the entire process to connect if: A or B happensA: Monitor is completely powered off. Unplug usb c and power cable and restart steps to connect again.B: USB C unplugged from either side. Then the process must be restarted.

This product is a piece of junk if you want to connect your portable monitor (Asus MB16AC in my case) to your PC as a secondary/tertiary monitor. When you use the computer it works just fine, but if you put the computer to sleep, the adapter doesn't know what to do and will disconnect a bunch, causing your windows to move around. This behavior also happens if you have windows put your monitors to sleep after some time. This also happens when the PC is shut down. The adapter just doesn't know what to do when it isn't getting a signal, so it keeps restarting, causing my monitor to flicker and constantly power up and down.I also encountered an issue where if I wanted to run my monitor at 100% brightness, I needed to put a lot of pressure onto the USB power cable because it must be loose inside the adapter housing or something. If I let go, constant restarting of the monitor, probably because the USB cable isn't making good contact without that pressure on it, so it can't supply enough power. This happened with multiple different cables, not just the one that came with it, so it's probably something defective inside the adapter (and looking at other reviews, it seems to be widespread).I'm sure that for some people this product works fine, but for PC users or even Mac users, it will not function like a normal monitor would. At this point I'm better off getting a portable monitor with HDMI input, as I can't find any other product like this that can simultaneously power the monitor and convert an HDMI signal to a DP Type-C signal over one cable (to the monitor). I really wish this was better, but it's practically useless for me.

Works with limitations - no 4k, no audio, no USB hub - only 720P video (if you're okay with that). Connect HDMI in to PS4 and use a standard USB-C data Cable (NOT THUNDERBOLT) and you will get 720P video support on the LG Ultrafine monitor (plug the USB-C into to the "Thunderbolt" input on the Ultrafine). Use Bluetooth audio or connect wired headphones to the controller for audio. Great for a desk setup and if you're not the type to count pixels like me. Hope this helps!
