I picked this up in an attempt to cut down on the number of mutes I carry to jazz band rehearsal (play bass and tenor t-bone). It failed: it was added to the hoard!First off, this is a great way to get 3 mutes in one package. The sound is on the bright side, and not problems with intonation. The reason it was "added" to the mutes I carry is due to the sound. If the piece is a ripper, this is what you want to use. If it's a more laid back vibe, then it might be too much. Not a detractor to picking one up though! When you get it, the join will be VERY tight. DO NOT BE A DUMMY LIKE ME AND TRY AND SAND THE JOINT!!!! Shortly after doing so, it can be a bear keeping it together, esp in colder temps. I have taken to using resign to help hold it together.Maybe it's just time for me to buy a new one? Definitely worth the money!

It was exactly what I wanted for my trombone. It was an instant fix arriving at my house before the end of the week. Thanks Amazon.

The straight mute is great...the harmon cap is awful. The mute is not long enough for the cap to go on and stay on (if you can get it on in the first place).
