Love this plunger for its feel, lightness and dulcet tone. Can also be used as hat and bucket mute.Disappointing is that the magnet won't stick the the bottom of the music holder of a Manhasset stand, which must be made of non-ferromagnetic metal. The stand pole is ferromagnetic metal but the plunger magnet is not strong enough to hold vertically. Lose one star for this.

Great using on/with my Lotus Solo (very large bell), not so great with my Schilke HC2 (very small bell). Practice make perfect I guess. Handsome looking though.

The tone of this plunger is a lot more woody than that of the toilet plungers most of use on stage. The tone is similar to that of a cup mute, so you could also use this for quick cup mute sections. The magnet is strong enough to hold its weight, but most of my stand was made of aluminum and non-magnetic. I took it to a gig and for the first time ever, didn’t hear toilet jokes when I used this plunger. That’s worth the price alone.

Besides being very easy to hold, sounding great and allowing for nice coloring of my sound without overly impacting intonation, this mute has a very convenient magnetic bottom which allows me to attach the mute to most music stands!!!As an added bonus, the shape and size of the mute allows me to store my cup mute in it when putting my mutes in my mute bag so it doesn’t take up additional lot of additional space in my mute bag!I’ve been using the mute all the time and don’t see that changing anytime soon!

Really like this mute for how lightweight it is, the ease of carrying to gigs, plus having the magnet is just genius. The sound really impressed me and I can see this being perfect for a lot of uses. Highly recommend!

I’m having allot of fun! This mute is a blast! Offering sounds around a plunger, cup mute, and harmon without the metal buzz. The magnet is a huge benefit, allowing to connect to your music stand for easy access. No more bending over to the floor to pickup my mute!

Great quality for the price. The depth of the mute makes using as a plunger mute impractical for complicated closed/open sections of music. I found the impact on intonation greater than the KR Indigo that I currently used. Also, you really have to mail the placement of the mute to create a plunger effect which can be hard to do in a quick change.I do plan to use this mute as a hat mute when called for. It does create a great sound for that purpose and I’ll work it in as a choice of color for lines marked “in stand” when I’m on mic in a pit orchestra.Great product and a very lovely Hat Mute

Very cool take on the plunger mute, and easy to hold in your hand. The leather is very soft and holds up quite well, and the inside is lined with soft velvet. There is a little button magnet on the flat side, and it will stick to anything steel for easy out of the way storage on the stand. The sound is less harsh (maybe?) than a plunger, and the mute is easier on your bell than smacking a pink rubber plunger on it all night. This could also be used as a wonderful “in hat” mute, as it will rest securely on the lip of a stand. Another high quality product from MG.
