If you want an easy way to make a very decent pour over this is the way. You can use any kettle and get a really good cup of Java.

I find it very useful for consistency and even flow. You still can vary between center and outer rim and how much pressure you put on the coffee bed to make up interesting recipes. I use it or melodrip all the time. There are already enough variables in pour-over. If you can remove your pouring technique out of equation, you can get better results with more consistency and repeatability.

This accessory makes it a lot easier to get a good distribution of water over coffee grounds when making coffee with the Hario V60. I kinda held my breath when I purchased it hoping I wouldn’t feel dumb later, but I’m really glad I purchased it.

Works great, distributes water over the coffee evenly and slower than regular kettle.

I use with the Hario Switch and a V-60 #2 filter to make perfect one-cup-at-a-time coffee. You can get the same results with a steady hand and a gooseneck kettle, this just makes it a little easier. Still, you have an extra piece to fool with so some would say it's simpler without it. Also, it's pretty pricey for a molded piece of plastic. Someone's making a heck of a profit!

Hario V60 works well, in fact I like it better than the Chemex filters and carafe.Kettles with gooseneck spout are recommended when making drip coffee, as they achieve an even flow of water and extraction. When such a kettle is not handy, a Hario 02 size filter with Drip Assist will achieve the same.

I was skeptical, but the drip assist works great. My plan is to take it to work. This is a lot cheaper than a new gooseneck just for the office.

i use this with a Kalita Wave. It provides for a perfect distribution of water over the ground coffee and the pour is perfectly timed. Also, i use this with a normal hot water kettle so it eliminates the need for a gooseneck kettle. Excellent device!

I use it with the kalita wave with an espresso puck screen under the wave filter and it basically makes drip coffee, like a way better version of what comes out of a mr coffee. When I use it with V60, it tends to make an underextracted brew, in my opinion. You can't really get a super even bloom with it IMO, because the center holes don't distribute far. I have to grind finer to make sure the extraction happens the way I like it. YMMV! I don't hold it over the cup, I put it on the cup. Pete Licata does both in his demo video on Hario dot com. I find putting it on the cup after adding coffee and taring the scale is the better way to make sure it's consistent.
