Loved this product! No filters needed. Used to use plastic dripperDangerous as we now know. Coffee tastes delicious.

I travel constantly for work and I absolutely loath all in room hotel coffee. I had previously had a filter required pour over coffee maker (different brand) which I forgot somewhere and I wanted to give this a shot. I have been using this for a few weeks now and it a) produces excellent coffee with no additional filters required (and thus no flavor from filters), b) is not flimsy, I carry it in my duffel either as a carry on or tossed in the back of my truck, zero dents, and c) cleans up incredibly easy. I absolutely love this pour over and wouldn't think twice about buying it again (if/when i leave this one somewhere). 5 stars all the way as a perfect travel companion!Edit/update: I have now been using this thing pretty much nonstop (5 days a week) for the last 9 months. I still beat the crap out of it, often clean it in the laziest way possible. And with regards to the quality issues mentioned in the negative reviews: a) Nothing has fallen apart on it, zero dents, zero damage. Currently it is no longer in a duffel bag but tossed into an oversized roller bag along with pots and pans completely unprotected b) it flows perfectly every single time. I use extra fine grind coffee much of the time I have never had this thing not flow properly. I have never had a single problem with it. I don't know what kind of junk coffee the people with clogging problems are using, but I suspect the problem is their coffee. I stand by this little beast 100% and recommend it to any one who needs a nice portable flow through!!!

Before I tell you about the disappointing breakage, here’s what made this a good filter until them:This was a great way to switch off disposable filters while still having great coffee with a tiny kitchen space for storage. I received mine the first week in March. Now, about three and a half months later, I can report flow (did* slow tremendously after about he first month, and I had to do *serious* cleaning to get it going again. (No dishwasher, so had to soak in vinegar and then boil a couple of times before getting great flow again. (Would try roasting next time—would be less messy, and I’ve read it can be very effective in cooking away the trapped oils. (I drink 2-3 mugs of 10-16 oz daily, so others may find cleaning to be a less frequent need.) Hot tip: To dump grounds in compost without getting them all over your kitchen, find a durable but non-favorite container (like my 32 oz plastic yogurt container. With filter upside down over the container, hold edges together with both hands. Lift 6-8 inches, then wuickly whack the ensamble together back down onto the counter or other hard surface. Does a great job of jarring the grounds i to the container, from which a spatula can easily remove them to your compost. (I never wanted my spatula to accidently push grounds into filter holes from direct use.)The problem? With less than three months of use, the base of my filter has come off so it can no longer be used resting atop my mug! Super frustrating. I have never abused the base in any way. (I always hold it by the metal tab at the top of the filter, or around the top edge of the filter for cleaning.) Replacing today with one that has a separate stand. Maybe this filter can be my “backup” to use with the replacement filter’s stand. (Sigh) The filter is top-notch and produces great coffee, but the cup stand was he loser. Mine was treated gently. Maybe if you are gentler still, or get the right one, you’ll have better luck. I would absolutely *not* recommend packing this in a suitcase or tossing in a kitchen drawer—it’d likely break immediately.

It doesn’t hold water to brew coffee, it literally runs through. I believe mine is faulty.A friend stated her single cup brew is much slower.

It was good to purchase. I never thought that the aroma and taste would stand out like this. It is easy to wash off, light and easy to use.

A couple years ago I wrote this. I still feel the same way. "There's not a lot to embrace these days, but what we have, we seriously want. I am a coffee person and have been since very young. I love my coffee and am as selective as those that are the same with their wine, or beer. I have tried Starbucks pour-over, you have to buy filters, it can crack. But considered the leader in pour-overs. I have purchased others that look like this, but do not act like this one. I like my coffee hot, sippable, and cools as it should. With others before this, once I add my special blend of creamer and sugar...it is typically cold, or hot but the sediment is heavy at the bottom, which is yuck. This is my new best filter ever!! It is easy to use, well made, cleans up easy, moves quickly but does not disturb the results. No sediment at the bottom, hot enough to add anything and not make it a lukewarm coffee. I LOVE IT! CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. Well Done!!!"

It does work wonderful! There is a difference in coffee flavor compared to a Bonmac /porcelain brewer, but seriously, only on Sunday morning do I have the time required to patiently and properly pour with it.This filter (when clear) brews faster and produces a decent pour over coffee. It did begin to clog, and take almost double the time to pour by the end of the first month, just as other users have noted, but...I was prepared and soaked that bad boy overnight in a solution of PBW 5 Star cleaner. You can get this on Amazon, it is a powder cleaner for brewing equipment and is an AMAZING product. Need to clean coffee or food stains out of plastic containers--or micro sized coffee silt from pour over filters...? PBW is your savior. I could go on extolling its other virtues, but won't here. Just know that there is a safe and easy way to keep this filter clean. I soak it once per week now and don't have issues. The reason I was looking for a paperless filter in the first place, is the cost of REALLY GOOD filters that don't (even after rinsing with boiled water) leave a paper taste in my coffee was getting ridiculous...I drink 2-3 cups per day. This filter has turned out be just what I was hoping for. Cost efficient, easy to use and easy to keep clean. And on Sundays, I appreciate my time with my Bonmac even more :)
