Purchased several 3/4" X 9" lag screws to build a small treehouse for my kids. These things are monsters (the screws, not the kids) and were hard to find (as stated by the sellers store name). These worked great and will more than adequately support the load. I pre-drilled the holes with a 9/16" auger, but that seemed a bit tight, even when the lags were properly lubed.

Item is exactly what is expected. This turned out to be a difficult item to locate locally and even somewhat online. Fortunately this Amazon posting ended up being cheaper than ordering these lag screws individually from various screw/bolt websites. Unfortunately most applications for these bolts is not going to require 10. I would of liked the ability to order these in groups of four (which is a logical number). In my application we used them for a treehouse attached to a tree. The pilot hole into an oak tree was 9/16" (drilled with a Hitatchi 728245 9/16" by 12" long auger drill bit). I used a 3/4" spade bit to drill out the length the shank of the bolt went into the tree. I'd strong recommend a large breaker bar style wrench and socket to turn this bolt. Do not try to "upscale" a small 1/4" ratchet with a 1/2" conversion to a 1 1/8" socket. The bolts are so far performing as expected in this treehouse application and holding 2 x 8's to the tree firmly.
