Your cart is empty.Hex head lag screws are coarse thread screws requiring a pre-drilled hole with minimal clearance above the fastener to prevent splitting or snappin. Lag screws are some of the toughest screws. Six sided head design makes it ideal for easy and quick installation with a hex drive and could tightened with more torque than phillips head machine screws. Lag screws are deal used for securing wood in heavy duty applications like deck building that standard wood screws cannot support the load. They're often combined with washer to evenly distribute the pressure of the head as well as preventing pull through. At the same time, they could work independently without a nut. Use this lag screw to attach objects to wood or anchor masonry. Common applications include retaining walls, deck frames, and outdoor play equipment. For masonry application, use the screw in conjunction with a lag shield. Pretty simple, if you order the right size they will work great. I like the hex head for going into wood. A pilot hole helps as with any screw like this.
