I have been running around trying this on many different things. I really wanted to use this to find nails in logs before sawing on my sawmill. Even a depth of an inch or two would help me a lot.But when testing this, it cannot detect a single nail or screw reliably sitting on the table top uncovered. A couple or few nails or screws it has no issues with.It misses a key in a pocket sometimes. It seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it works but sometimes it does not catch everything.

Very easy to use metal detector and I love that it's rechargeable. It's a bit smaller than the normal ones that security uses but works just as well. There's a sound mode and vibrating mode which is cool. Good buy

Wanted this to find nails in used lumber. Works perfectly and simple to use. A nail can easily ruin a saw blade. This will help prevent that. It’s also rechargeable so you wont go through a bunch of batteries which I like. Packaging is pretty basic but build quality seems pretty good. Easy to read display and loud tone that changes pitch the closer you get to the metal. It’s a winner for me

Great scanner, it has adjustable sensitivity, visual and audible alerts. If it’s late at night you can use audio headphones connected to the 3.5mm audio port. I use it to locate vapes on my teenage daughter when my wife is not home and cannot physically search her. It is so effective in finding them that we started talking about nicotine gums to quit her addiction.

I have not used this for security scanning, but it is very useful for a number of applications around the house. It has 6 different settings for level of metal detection, so it can pick up very small objects, such as a metal screw or tack that was dropped in the carpet. I have used it to scan re-purposed wood for any remaining screws or nails before cutting it. My husband also used this to detect studs behind the drywall as well as electrical lines and pipes. The instructions on how to use it are printed on the scanner itself. So far, it has been very useful, and with the rechargeable battery, it is ready to go when needed.

This is a well-made security metal detector that can detect metal and steel underneath clothing or inside of a briefcase or other concealed bags. The product worked well in my testing. After I fully charged it with the included USB-C cable I was able to wave the wand over different metals to see if it would go off and it did.You can do vibration or sound as well as you can wear headphones if you would like to hear inside of your ears instead of audibly for everyone around you.I think it's reasonably priced around $40. I hope it continues to work well when we use it.
