The GC - 1088 metal detector is a professional tool designed specifically for accurately detecting metal items in various complex environments. Its main body is made of high-quality materials, with a simple and smooth appearance. The sturdy and durable structure ensures stability and reliability in complex places such as beaches, fields, and ancient ruins. Equipped with an advanced LCD display function, it can clearly display important information such as the possible detected metal types, target depth indication, NOTCH range, sensitivity and volume levels, battery status monitoring, and target ID digital display.
It has multiple search modes. For example, the NOTCH mode can eliminate unwanted metal targets, the SNIFF mode only detects remembered metal targets, and the PP mode can precisely locate the target position. When using, keep the search coil parallel to the ground, move and scan slowly. Select the appropriate mode according to the metal type and set the sensitivity and volume correctly. When detecting with coins, place the flat surface of the coin parallel to the search coil. During the test, turn on the detector, adjust the sensitivity and set the mode.
In case of any faults, there is no need to worry. If the detector displays or makes sounds but does not detect the target, it may be affected by interference or the environment. You can change the position or wait; if it emits an incorrect signal, it may be due to too high sensitivity or electromagnetic interference. Reduce the sensitivity, hold it correctly and scan slowly; if it cannot detect anything, it may be due to too low sensitivity. Increase the sensitivity, restore the target range or adjust the angle of the search coil; if the LCD displays multiple target categories or emits multiple sounds at the same time, reduce the sensitivity or scan from different angles; if the detector does not work properly, reinsert the cable or replace the battery.

The advertisement on here says it detects gold but it only detects Iron, nickel, copper and silver. If the gold has enough of that with it, it might find it but not gold itself.

Good balance, light weight, detects a wide range of metals. Works well and easy to pinpoint objects. Adjustable and gives a decent approximation of depth. Decent price and easy to use, found my lost ring in my yard!

I used this to find a buried piece of one of my garden machines that broke. I tried my other metal detector first, but it wouldn't locate the part. This detector found it within a few minutes. It was buried around 5 inches deep.Very clear and loud audible tone and visual signal.

Easy to assemble, took me less than a minute. Took it to the park for a test run after dinner. First time out and the treasure haul was…. a small toy turtle with a small metal ring for a key chain (found in tall grass), a kids Tech Deck Skateboard (small finger board)(found about 1” deep) and a Canadian $1 coin (found less than an 1” deep).It is pretty straight forward to use, great for beginners and so far has worked as advertised. For the price, this is a great way to get into the hobby. Haven’t tried it in the water yet but am looking forward to a beach day in the near future.

This metal detector was for my 8 year old son who has been asking for one for quite some time. Since receiving it, I don't think it has left his hands, even sleeping with it beside his bed. He has already found a number of things just in a field beside our house, and has many ideas on where to head next. It seems really accurate, and it's lightweight enough for him to not get tired holding it for hours on end, with a comfortable grip and adjustable length. I really like that it came with a shovel too. He heads out with his prospecting bag, shovel, and metal detector for hours and hours of searching for treasures. We will be planning some family trips around use of this, and I can't wait. We really wanted something that he could use comfortably, but that was also usable for us too so we could potentially find some things and rely on it to be accurate and good quality. I love that it works on batteries (no worrying about recharging while out hunting for things), and so far the batteries have lasted for many hours of use. I'm afraid now that he won't want to share with us... I guess I'll have to consider purchasing another one haha.

I started shopping for a new metal detector right after mine broke. Metal detecting is addicting and i didnt know what to do without it. After searching for a bit i came across this one and it was in my budget and from the description, it sounded good. Plus i really liked that it was orange, thats one of my favorite colors, so i ordered it. Im glad i did because i really like it. Its really easy to put together, easy to use, and very light. My other one showed what it was on the screen and had different tones so i got lazy and i learned when i got this one that i missed a lot of things. The first day using it i found a 1965 silver dime! The only thing i dont like about it, is that the battery compartment cover is sometimes really hard to get off. Dont know if it happens to everyone but its that way for me. Its a great detector, at a cheap price. Cant beat that, its a definate must have!

Always wanted one of these when I was a kid, but they were very expensive. When I saw this on Amazon I said I had to give it a try. It came nicely packaged and not very difficult to put it together. It takes six AA batteries, so if you are into instant gratification make sure to have them on hand when it arrives. Seems to be a good value for the price. I have not had a chance to head out to the beach to try it yet, but have tested it around the back yard. Had someone throw a bunch of coins out on the lawn and I was quickly able to find them in the deep grass with this. It is a lot of fun to use and hope I can find some valuables in the sand at the beach soon.

Amazing, I completely love it. It has given me a nice hobby to start working on. The device is very accurate and I love how you can disassemble it and reassemble it in ease. It's really fun to use and it can burn off some extra time on the side. Its fun to take to parks and just walk around, I also love how you can insert a headphone wire and listen in through your headphones. Overall a good buy

I didn't really find any gold...but I did find about 10 coins or so in my back yard! it's pretty useful! I wish I had this when my friend lost her ring in her yard, it would of saved us so much time! I haven't taken this to the beach yet, don't know how well it will do under water, I'll update once I give it a try. Over all this is pretty fun to play around with. Not heavy at all, I was holding it for over an hour or so. The downside to this is it's battery powered, so I have to make sure to get extra batteries if I'm taking this outside, also it's pretty hard to change the battery out. But other than that over all the product is pretty good.
