I have had the Nox 800 for years, and decided to purchase another when it was on sale. This a still a great detector that set the standard for separation, and the newer models come at a much higher price for not enough difference. Overall this thing is well worth it for a beginner to an experienced detectorist.

Almost baught a different detector, which would have been a big waste of money like the last 5 detectors I purchased in the past . This thing is exactly what I was hoping it would be . My other detectors won't even detect small gold earing 14k , this thing does it with accuracy . After playing around with the settings I managed to tweak it perfectly to my liking. Cost me just over 1500 which is better then the 3000 I spent on 5 machines that pi$$#D me off and nothing more . I only wish this machine was available when I baught my first detector. Anyways I won't be getting rid of this one for a while to come . For the first time I don't feel scammed buying a detector,," you get what you pay for " sometimes it's a big payment but better then paying the price of getting duped . Thanks for the fast shipping ,perfect packaging and most of all thank you Australia for not scamming me !!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ Would give this product 6 stars ,but the option only goes to 5 . Can't wait until it's summer so until then I'm going detecting in -15celsius weather lol . Cheers

I purchased this minelab 900 detector for my husband's birthday when he saw someone using one on the beach and after talking to the person they highly recommended this one. He had another older brand that was years old and this one just blew him away for the ease and accuracy of use. He has taken the pro find pinpointer by itself sometimes when we go a short drive to the lake. He is still learning on how to use it because he is old school he is not into "tech" stuff but he will have it all down soon enough.

I've been detecting for about 4 years and this detector is great! Great at noise canceling and ground balancing. This thing can be tuned to your specific needs/preferences. Works great at the beach, so it handles water and salt water very well. I would recommend this to anyone that has experience with metal detecting due to its somewhat complex features. Only recommendation is, I would buy a coil ear brace to help sturdy them up. I've seen where people have broken the ears on the coil. Maybe because of weight or misuse? Not sure. But, I bought a cheap 3D printed brace from Amazon to be safe. Haven't had any problems.

Seems to be a great item new to the hobby but the only one thing that I have a issue with is the fact that the display is not easily removable to fit into a bag not even the Minelab carry bag only wish it had the same style of quick lock but able to remove the screen/ handle from the pole. I can see this as a easy fix then it would be a 10/10 instead of the Allen head style that holds it now or even a Handel that can pivot like the head of the unit to lay flat for easier storage would put this to a 12/10 for carry

There is a learning curve to using this, but that's the same with any detector. Easily learned, though. It's preset programs are on point, and you can customize the way you want them. This thing is light weight, making you swing longer without tiring out. And it is so compact when shaft is slid up into its 3 sections. I upgraded from a Whites XLT and a V3i. I thought I loved that V3i, but found a new connection with this Equinox 900. I've only just begun to use it, and found 3 dimes and a quarter in my yard that I missed with the V3i. Looking forward to many hunts with this Nox900.Update...This detector hits hard on silver! 11" deep dime and 8" deep half dollar, among more dimes. Loving it.

This detector is absolutely amazing! The accuracy, light weight, back lighting, bluetooth headphones, incredible amount of settings...it can be overwhelming, but this thing also works straight out of the box. For beginners, it's easy enough to just pick one of the modes (Park 1/2, Field 1/2, Beach 1/2, Gold 1/2) and go. I do suggest learning how to at least accept and reject certain frequencies, otherwise you'll hear non-stop noises, but it's incredibly simple. The price definitely felt steep at first, but the more I use this thing, the more I feel just how NICE it is! Knowing the depth, frequency, and tones an object makes saves you soooo much time digging up useless junk AND it has an awesome pin-pointer built in. If you're serious about this hobby or you need something to find deep/tiny targets, this detector is for you. Oh, and the water resistance is a HUGE plus in my book for river hunting :)My only beef with this is the battery life, but honestly it's pretty good. You should get 12 hours of battery life, it just stinks it takes 4 hours to charge. Just a tiny gripe of mine, but honestly if you charge it at night (or maybe in your car if you have USB charging ports) then it's not a problem. Just make sure your charging ports are strong enough for this thing!

So, I've been a hobby detectorist for years. Whites, Garrett, misc machines, all just for poking around fun with friends in the hobby. I received this and gave it a charge, fired it up without even reading much of the manual, and went out to explore my backyard, where I "thought" I'd find nothing but some nails and bottle caps, because in the past, with other machines I had done the same, and was confident I'd not find any coins, etc. Well, I was wrong. In a span of about 15min I dug up a quarter, several dimes, a nickel and a penny! A few were around 8" or deeper. It gave off such a solid tone I had to give it a dig just to see, and sure enough, it was accurate in telling me to dig! I'm sure other newer machines on the market would have also hit these targets as they appeared to be present filtering through the different frequency options on the 800, but what I can say is the new technology on these machines works. Very clear "dig" tones, great weight and balance, and easy to use for an absolute beginner getting back into the hobby after a ten year hiatus. I'm really glad I did my research before buying a new metal detector. This one checks off all the boxes for me personally.
