People cross street when they see it clipped to my pants pocket. Wish I had it when I was attacked by two dogs last week. It is effective without firing a blast.

I have actually used this product once. A dog off leash and not under voice control came running at me and my leashed dog. My dog is reactive so I carry this to protect him. Got the dog in the eyes and it immediately ran away. Owner wasn't happy. But I told him he wash it out with water. I've seen his dog multiple times and the dog is just fine.

It was easy to carry, but I managed to lose it while on a walk as I slipped the clip on my jeans pocket. Fortunately I hadn't had to use it yet and hope that I never have to, but I am unable to rate it until I re-order then have to use it. One of those things I think is good to have when you walk your dog as there seem to be more dogs roaming loose. Judy

While out walking my pup, unleashed dogs came after us. They were bigger and more aggressive than my guy, although he was willing to take a stand to protect us both. Luckily, I recently bought the HALT! dog repellent. I shot it out in a “T” shape. The very, very orange, irritating, spray, which shoots out for 8-10 ft (1-1.5m) landed in the dogs’ mouths, on their faces, and in their eyes.they were blinking, spitting, and shaking their heads, way too busy to attack. The dye stands out and cannot be washed off easily, which helps in identifying the dog- or person- that attacked. What I love about this product is the small size, the easy-to-find red, white and blue design, its efficacy, and its price. I wear it clipped or pocketed to my training treat bag, which is great. It’s also perfect for a belt. On top of all that, when I’m out and about at night I carry it in my purse or have it handy in my car. Great protection for very little cost, effective and non-violent. Which is exactly what I want.

I wouldn't bike ride on farm country roads without this great dog repellant. Farm dogs attack me all the time, and I've been badly bitten and have had to have rabies shots as well, which isn't pleasant. I first try to make friends with dogs by offering them dog bones carried in a top tube bag, but if that doesn't work, or if I don't have enough time, I have used this on attacking dogs very successfully. I carry it by using a fantastic Twofish Bike Block on the stem of my bikes, so I can grab it in a hurry and let loose with spray. I have lined the rubber Twofish Bike Block with a nylon strap so the canister can be pulled out without sticking. I'm not afraid that this repellent will do any real harm to the dogs, who are being territorial, but it surely beats being badly bitten. I had a riding partner who was so badly bitten, he could never ride again. I even had a mean woman sic her huge dog on me while bike riding.

I've used Halt very successfully for several years. This last can I bought seems to have lost its potency. I'm guessing it stayed on the shelf way too long. Dogs do not retreat from spray from this particular can. I'll still use the product but from a fresh source

I carry this on my bike when I go out for a ride, I carry it everywhere, in stores, and outdoors even in my own yard. I have had to use it numerous times on the road, as lots of fruitloops driving out there that are abusive to cyclists these days here in "good ole okie town" that need to hand in their licenses quite frankly! And lots of mean dogs in local "neighbor" hoods I must pass through on my way to stores and main streets! I've never had a problem with the discharge of these sprays! The units I use are quite a few years old, they discharge very far, about 10 feet and never splurt or fizzes nor fail to deliver! as countless other sprays I've tried before or recent! HALT II, They are as potent as new even after 5 years! , the dogs I sprayed today are proof of that! They immediately run off and are pacified at least for about 45 minutes, even after the initial pain subsides. An area I rode down I returned to on my way home with groceries from Walmart and the dogs did not try and attack me again, I had been in the store for 30 minutes, and it took Id say another 15-possibly more, Traffic lights are slow here in Moore, Okietown, I had lots of heavy bags on my handlebars and a backpack! I had to return to the street where I was originally attacked by the dogs. in order to get back to my own home neighborhood! The two dogs had no desire to even come near me and stayed clear even after 45-60 minutes! They didn't feel the affects of the spray but it certainly conditioned them for a day or so. When I returned this route the next week to get more stuff at wallyworld, they again attacked and again I sprayed and they ran off. I think it works for what it is, but it won't train a dog to quit attacking all to gather only keep him at bay in the moment coup de grace. It can smart though! And it will not loose potency over even 5 years!(if not kept in the sun), so pocket it when not in use! I've bought this spray and used it for 15 years, I've bought 4 replacements in that whole long time. Very good, I would trust no other! :)
