We have been using an aeropress every time we camp, brewing with a higher concentration for strong coffee. I saw this espresso maker and had to give it a go.Pros: the compact carrying case is awesome. It’s protected well in our “kitchen bin”. The pieces are nice, stainless and easy to assemble. Using a small electric burner, a cup of espresso takes just two minutes and is incredible. So much stronger than what we were used to! It’s closer to espresso we make at home now. It’s the perfect portion to enjoy alone or split.Cons: the basket for the grounds is nearly impossible to get out when it is hot, so making the second cup takes a little while, because you have to let the parts cool. Also, when it is brewing, it sprays quite a bit… it gets all over our camping table. We absolutely love it, and recommend getting the electric burner instead of attempting any open flame or Coleman camp stove.

This little unit is worth the weight when backpacking. I just may stick with Starbucks Via's when ultralight backpacking but for every other trip I take this along. Most recently I took it with me on a deer hunt way up into the mountains and having espresso in the morning is awesome (much better than Via's, sorry Starbucks). It is quick and easy to clean, it works well with a micro camp stoves (eg. MSR Pocketrocket) or even a Coleman propane stove. You should not place this directly in a campfire without risking damaging it. I would advise against that.

I have always wanted to try a "mocha pot". It did make a nice espresso on a camping trip. Quality is nice. Easy to use. Did not site easily on a coleman 2 burner stove. those grates were just too far apart. Better for a small single burner camp stove. I think the coffee was a bit better than an Aeropress. But while camping that Aeropress seemed a bunch easier, lighter etc. I also have an hand-presso where you pump the unit for pressure. I really like the hand-presso style but it is definitely heavier and harder to clean and such. So this unit has it's place to enjoy a nice cup and enjoy the process. Just know what you are getting.

I received my order 3 days earlier than anticipated. It was well packaged and contained a shipping invoice, which few companies bother with these days, I am very happy with their service and would order from them again, I ordered the GSI outdoor mini-espresso set which turns out to be ideal for my induction range use, or over a camp stove,

For me, sometimes just a shot is enough to get going, until there's more time to drink coffee in a more suitable setting. That's my idea of this piece of equipment, if time seems valuable and/or wasted and the coffee ritual cuts into prime hiking or cycling hours too much. I purchased this kit to save time in the early morning hours when I should be breaking camp and on the move. Basically I needed a java hit before any physical movement for normality's sake. I can see it filling the gap between presses and drip filters, when weight is a factor but not exactly the critical determination. It's another compact coffee device for my esoteric arsenal of outdoor coffee brewing devices.

Es bonito, viene en un práctico pero algo voluminoso estuche.Pero me parece algo pequeño y caro, para tomarte un cortadito poco más.

I liked the idea of this espresso set for camping and cycle touring - much easier to face the world if you start the day with a fresh cup of coffee! This set looks good, seems well made, and comes with a handy carrying case.
